100 ans du Musée National Estonien

Centenary of the Estonian National Museum

Le 14 avril 1909, le Musée National estonien ("Eesti Rahva Muuseum") voyait le jour à Tartu, la capitale culturelle du pays.
100 ans plus tard, la poste estonienne a célébré cet anniversaire avec l'émission d'un timbre commémoratif à 5,50 EEK (0,35€) le 14 avril 2009.
Merci beaucoup Kristiina pour ce joli FDC avec une splendide oblitération "1er jour" de Tallinn :-)
Ce timbre a logiquement été émis également en avant-première à Tartu.
Je dois avouer que je suis incapable de vous décrire quels sont les objets reproduits à la fois sur ce timbre et sur l'oblitération...
On 14th of April 1909, the Estonian National Museum ("Eesti Rahva Muuseum") was founded in Tartu, the cultural capital of the country.
100 years later, the Post of Estonia has celebrated this anniversary with the issue of a commemorative EEK 5.50 (€ 0.35) stamp on 14th of April 2009.

This stamp has been also logically issued in preview sale in Tartu.
I've to confess that I'm unable to describe what are exactly the artifacts depicted both on the stamp and the postmark below...

Ce musée est dédié à la connaissance, à la collecte, à la préservation et à l'étude de la culture matérielle et spirituelle estonienne. Il est entièrement tourné vers le peuple estonien, ses coutumes et son folklore populaire, même lors des périodes de guerre et d'occupation qu'a connu le pays depuis 100 ans...
Sur plusieurs sites, ce musée présente des collections d'objets folkloriques (plus d'1 million !), de dessins, de photographies, d'archives cinématographiques consacrés à la culture estonienne et finno-ougrienne.
L'illustration sur l'enveloppe ci-dessus représente la maquette du Nouveau Musée, appelé "Memory Field", qui sera construit à Tartu sur le site de l'ancien manoir Raadi, détruit pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale.
This Museum is dedicated to knowledge, preservation and study of the Estonian material and spiritual culture. It is fully turned towards Estonian people, popular customs and folklore, even during the periods of war and occupation of the country during the last 100 years...
On several sites, this Museum exhibits collections of folk artifacts (more than one million !), drawings, photographs, film archives dedicated mainly to the Estonian and Finno-Ugric culture.
The illustration on the cover above depicts the model of the New Museum, called "Memory Field", which will be built in Tartu on the site of the ancient manor of Raadi, destroyed during World War II.
