Intronisation du sultan de Negeri Sembilan

Installation of Sultan of Negeri Sembilan

Vous me suivez toujours ?
Merci beaucoup Kkkhor :-)
On October 26, 2009, His Royal Highness ("Duli Yang Maha Mulia") Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir was officially enthroned 11th Sultan ("Yang Di-Pertuan Besar") of the State of Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia.
This Sultan, born in 1948, had in fact been designated on December 29, 2008, two days after the death of his predecessor (who was his uncle). Unlike other eight royal states part of the Federation of Malaysia, the ruler of Negeri Sembilan is elected by four territorial chiefs (called Undang) of the State (Sungai Ujong, Jelebu, Johol and Rembau).
Are you always with me ?
The Malaysian Post has commemorated this Royal installation by issuing, on October 26, 2009, a series of three stamps included on the nice FDC below with a postmark from Ipoh (State of Perak). Thank you very much Kkkhor :-)

Too bad : the same day, a postal agent of Ipoh has also applied two other cancellations on these stamps :-(
This installation ceremony took place in the royal capital of the State, Seri Menanti, more precisely in the royal palace ("Istana Besar"). An older part of this palace, called "Old Palace" ("Istana Lama") appears on the illustration of this envelope on the left. This wooden palace, built between 1902 and 1908, has the particularity of having been built without using a single nail !
The Yang Di-Pertuan Besar is vested with the executive power of the State of Negeri Sembilan but is also the Head of the religion (Islam), which probably explains the presence of mentions in Jawi (the Arabic alphabet adapted to the Malay language) on the cover and on the RM 1.00 stamp above.
This stamp depicts a portrait of the ruler and of his wife, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, in their dress worn this October 26, 2009.
The other two stamps feature the Sultan wearing the traditional Baju Melayu with his royal headdress (30 sen) and his songkok (50 sen), the traditional Malay cap.
The flag and arms of the State and of the ruler of Negeri Sembilan are also included on these three stamps with a yellow (color symbolizing the Sultan) background.
