Intéressant souvenir de l'Avent en Autriche

An attractive Advent souvenir from Austria

I've published a few days ago a special cover from Austria, that had passed through the now famous Christkindl Post Office, which this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of its opening. This new letter below has also received the special postmark of Christkindl (top left) in circulation until December 26, 2009 but also another cancellation dedicated to the special historical postal stagecoach transport of letters taking place each year between the villages of Garsten and Christkindl.
Thank you very much Florian for this nice Austrian surprise :-)

The 65c stamp was issued on November 6, 2009 for the Advent celebrations, the period of four weeks preceding Christmas in the Christian tradition.
This stamp depicts a beautiful landscape with the small church of Ranui located in the Vilnös Valley (South Tyrol) with, in background, the north face of the Sass Rigais mountain (3025 meters).
At the occasion of the 33rd celebration of Advent in Garsten (Upper Austria), a Christmas market is taking place next to the baroque church of this village. Since 1990, a
special historical postal stagecoach transport of letters is held annually between Garsten and Christkindl, not far away.
So this year, this 20th short trip took place on November 28, 2009 and the special postmark franking the stamp was applied at the start in Garsten, the top left one being affixed at the arrival of the coach to Christkindl.

This letter is in fact a folded poster picturing the start of the postal coach infront of the church of Garsten, with in the top right the other church of Christkindl, a pilgrimage place, built between 1702 and 1725. Here is the unfolded letter above !
This letter has another particularity, it is indeed numbered (No. 1228). Only 2000 covers have been issued !
It's worth noting
that the revenue from the sale of these special letters will go to children in difficulty from the Steyr's region.
Maybe some of you know the tenor Josef Oberauer who participated in this trip, as mentioned in the bottom left on this letter ??
