Lettre du Luxembourg

Cover from Luxembourg

The Stamp Office of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has participated at the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" held in Paris from 4 to 7 November 2010.
Like other foreign postal administrations also present, the Luxembourg Post has issued a special cancellation at this occasion. It appears on the envelope below (to the left) mailed on November 6, 2010 from Luxembourg.
This postmark is featuring a typical Parisian street lamp, similar to those on the Alexandre III bridge, inaugurated during the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900.

On June 16, 2010, the Luxembourg and Czech Posts have issued a joint stamp dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the accession of the House of Luxembourg to the throne of Bohemia.
This stamp (€ 0.70), designed, engraved and printed in Czech Republic, appears above to the left.
This stamp is featuring the two portraits and arms of King Jean I of Luxembourg (1296-1346) and Elizabeth Přemyslovna (1292-1330), sister of Wenceslas III, the last king of the Přemyslid dynasty of Bohemia, and also the year of their marriage (1310) allowing Jean to become king of Bohemia and, because of this title, a Prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
King Jean I of Luxembourg will remain loyal to the king of France, in whose service he died in 1346 at the Battle of Crécy...
The House of Luxembourg ruled the Kingdom of Bohemia until 1437.
The other stamp above (€ 0.35) is part of a nice set of three stamps issued on September 27, 2005 devoted to species of butterfly, the Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) here.

The Czech version of this joint stamp is included on the nice cover above posted on December 16, 2010 in the town of Kroměříž. Thank you very much Milan :-)
This stamp, designed by Karel Zeman and engraved by Jaroslav Tvrdoň, has been issued in sheets of 5 stamps + 4 coupons.
To note that the stamp issued by Luxembourg mentioned above was issued in sheets of 10 stamps.

I can not resist showing you above this beautiful sheet issued by the Czech Post.
So this is the central strip that was used by Milan on his letter above.
The four coupons symbolize the marriage in 1310 of King Jean of Luxembourg and Elisabeth Přemyslovna but I don't know which works have inspired Karel Zeman to design them ?
