Entier Postal moldave - Pierre de Coubertin

Postal Stationery from Moldova - Pierre de Coubertin

Merci beaucoup Sergio :-)
The year 2013 marks (among other things) the 150th anniversary of the birth of Baron Pierre de Coubertin (1863-1937), founder of the IOC and father of the modern Olympic Games in 1894.
Some postal administrations (Monaco for now, more to follow probably) have already planned to issue a special stamp in his honor, some others, such as the Moldovan Post, chose to issue a postal stationery. In France, a special postmark was issued on January 8, 2013, I'll speak about very soon !
It is that postal stationery below that I was lucky enough to receive with FDC cancellations of January 5, 2013 from Chișinău, the capital. Thank you very much Sergio :-)

This postal stationery (print run : 10,000), designed by Vitaliu Pogolşa, includes a up to 20g domestic rate's stamp (L 1.75) showing a portrait of Pierre de Coubertin as well as the Olympic flag and flame.
The illustration of this envelope to the left shows another portrait of Coubertin, younger, and an evocation of the ancient games and the 1st modern Olympic Games in 1894.
Sergio had the very good idea to complete his postage with a stamp (L 0.60), also featuring Coubertin, part of a series of two stamps (issued on August 29, 1994) devoted to the centenary of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The other stamp (L 1.50) of this same series is used on the back of this cover above. It also features the logo specially designed for the 100th anniversary of the IOC as well as the emblem of the IOC Congress that took place this year in Paris.
Finally, to note the unusual postmark of Chişinău, available throughout the year 2013 a priori at the post office No. 12, showing the triumphal arch located in the center of the Moldovan capital, near the cathedral.
