Tribute to Catalan poet Salvador Espriú in Andorra

As usual, the Spanish Post in Andorra has devoted its first stamp issue of the year to a personality who marked the Principality or the Catalan sphere.
On January 10, 2013, it's the Catalan poet Salvador Espriú (1913-1985) who was chosen to be featured on a special self-adhesive stamp (€0.37) to commemorate the 100 years of his birth.
It is that stamp that was used on the right on this cover mailed on July 15, 2013 from the capital, Andorra la Vella. Thank you very much Josep :-)
His work is marked by his childhood with the death of his brother and sister, but also by the death of his friend, the Mallorcan poet Rosseló Porcel. After this mourning, his mind was then darkened further by the disaster of the Spanish Civil War and the intense process of decatalanisation led by the winners.

Among his major works published in Catalan : "Laia" (1932) telling the dark life of a fisher's girl, "Cemetery of Sinera" (1946), his first poetic work, "Songs of Ariane" (1949), "First Story of Esther" (1948), his major theatrical work, "The rocks and the sea, blue" (1981)...
Some say that Salvador Espriú deserved the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Finally, I've already mentioned on this blog the second stamp above to the left (€ 0.75), issued on February 21, 2013 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the road connecting the Principality of Andorra to the neighboring Catalan town of La Seu d'Urgell.
