"Heritages of France" 2014 booklet

On June 23, 2014, the French Post has issued in general sale a new booklet entitled "Heritages of France" as part of its series "La France comme j'aime" ("The way I like France") started in 2009 (with two booklets devoted to Flora).
This new booklet consists of 3 sheets (4 self-adhesive stamps each) dedicated to the great epopee of train journey in France through three different periods : the first train journeys, new ways to travel and high speed journeys.
The preview sale of this booklet (design : Stéphane Humbert-Basset, print run : 3000000) took place on June 14, 2014 in Paris, at the "Carré d'Encre" and at the Philatelic Exhibition "Planète Timbres".

Stéphane Humbert-Basset also designed the FDC cancellation (train ticket-shaped) applied to the 2 covers above and below (thank you very much Jean-Claude).
The sheet above is the one devoted to high speed journeys. SNCF began its first attempts of high-speed trains in 1955 to compete with air and car.
The locomotive BB 9004 broke a world speed record in March 1955, reaching 331 km/h on the Landes railway line (between Bordeaux and Dax).
The RTG T 2057 turbotrain, at the train station of Boulogne-Aéroglisseurs on the stamp above, knew a great success thanks to its innovative engine with an helicopter gas turbine.
The locomotive CC 6572, in Limoges train station here, was the most powerful electric locomotive of the time and pulled the famous Capitol trains (200 km/h) from 1975.
The last stamp at the bottom right shows the third generation of TGV Duplex (320 km/h), launched in 2013, in the new train station of Belfort-Montbéliard TGV. This train is used for international lines to Germany, Switzerland and Spain.

The stamp above is part of another sheet of this booklet showing a steam locomotive Mikado 141 R 1187, built in North America, used by the SNCF between 1945 and 1974.
On that stamp, this locomotive is featured along the "Côte Vermeille" located in the southeast of the department of Pyrenees-Orientales, near the Spanish border.
