L'Amazighité à l'honneur en Algérie

Amazigh identity in Algeria

On 27 and 28 May 2014, the Algerian Post has issued a stamp (15 Dinars) including for the first time (if I'm not wrong) a legend in Berber language (using the Tifinagh alphabet).
The term "Amazigh" ("Imazighen" in the plural) is referring to the Berber people in Tifinagh, a group of indigenous tribes living in North Africa, in Morocco and Algeria (nearly 8 million people) for most of them.
This stamp was issued to celebrate the 19th anniversary (why not having waited for the 20th anniversary ?) of the creation of the High Commission for Amazigh identity.
Thank you very much Omar for this interesting first day cover from Tlemcen, sent on June 25, 2014 from Imama :-)

That stamp includes the words "High Commission for Amazigh identity" in Arabic and Tifinagh (as well as its transcription in Latin letters) but not in French...
