Garfield sur des timbres suisses !

Garfield on new Swiss stamps !

After France in 2008 (booklet of 10 stamps) or the United States in 2010 (one of the five "Sunday Funnies" stamps), the cat Garfield is this time in the spotlight on a series of two stamps (CHF 1.00 each) issued on September 4, 2014 by the Swiss Post.
These two self-adhesive stamps were used on the letter below posted on September 29, 2014 in Lausanne. Thank you very much Tristan :-)
This character of Garfield, a lazy and whimsical cat having a cynical look at the problems of humans, was officially born in the United States on June 19, 1978 at the hands of pencils of cartoonist Jim Davis (born 1945).

After having made its first appearance in forty American newspapers, the adventures of Garfield were declined in magazines, movies, books, video games, toys and even applications for smartphones.
Garfield, a kind of anti-hero, does not avoid the clichés about Switzerland on this stamp series on which it is featured eating chocolate in front of a mountain landscape and sharing a cheese fondue with the dog Odie, his scapegoat in these adventures...
