Fifty years of tourism in Singapore

So much progress has been made in 50 years by this small state, today an economic power in Southeast Asia, ultra-modern, one of the most important commercial and air hubs in the world.
The city-state also has the largest theaters and sport equipments, many shopping centers, while focusing on the protection of the environment through its many green spaces...
In short, everything is done to ensure that tourism is developing rapidly and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has an objective of welcoming 17 million tourists in 2015 (tourism will represent 8% GDP) for a turnover of 30 billion Singapore dollars and the creation of 250,000 jobs.

Singapore will be then positioned as one of the top 20 tourist destinations in the world !
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the start of the tourist development in the country, the SingPost issued on October 31, 2014, an interesting (and very colorful) series of 5 stamps (1st Local to $ 1.30).
Thank you very much Terence for this First Day Cover above with this complete "Tourism50" set :-)
Designed by Alynn Teo, this series is featuring some of the main tourist attractions in Singapore such as its  gastronomy (satay, spicy chilli crab...) and hawkers, Marina Bay (Esplanade-Theatres), the cable car connecting Mount Faber to Sentosa resort island, Orchard Road (the main shopping street), the statues of the Merlion (the half lion - half fish symbol of the country) and Sir Stamford Raffles (the founder of the country in the early 19th century), the "Gardens by the Bay" Park...

The other side of this envelope above with an unusual additional ATM stamp ($ 0.33) and a hand postmark from a post office of Sembawang, an area in the north of the main island of the country.
To conclude about this tourism's topic, to note that the famous guide "Lonely Planet" has appointed Singapore as the top country to visit in 2015 (as a reminder, the country will celebrate next year the 50th anniversary of its independence).
