Marin Čilić honoured in Bosnia (HP Mostar)

The Croatian Post had celebrated the victory of Goran Ivanišević at Wimbledon in 2001, by dedicating him a special stamp issued on August 31, 2001.
Another Croatian tennis player, Marin Čilić, also won this year a Grand Slam tournament, the US Open, defeating the Japanese Kei Nishikori in final on August 25, 2014.
But curiously, no stamp has so far been reported in Croatia in his honor...
Meanwhile, it is in Bosnia and Herzegovina that a stamp was devoted to him, issued on September 28, 2014 by the Croatian Post of Mostar (HP Mostar).
That stamp (1.50 BAM, design : Marin Musa) was issued in a sheet of 8 stamps + 1 central vignette.

The horizontal strip in the middle of one of these sheets, composed of two stamps and the central vignette, was used to frank the nice letter above mailed on November 12, 2014 from the town of Vitez. Thank you very much Edin :-)
Marin Čilić is indeed born in 1988 in the town of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located 25 km southwest of Mostar.
After an apparition of the Virgin in 1981, Medjugorje has become an important place of pilgrimage and the Croatian Post of Mostar issues each year a stamp dedicated to this pilgrimage.
The First Day sale of that stamp took therefore logically place in this city of Medjugorje.
Professional player since 2006, Marin Čilić won 13 tournaments in his career that was disrupted in 2013 following a conviction for doping...
