Red Cross 2014 m/s in France

The French Post had already issued, on May 24, 2014, a booklet of 10 stamps dedicated to two anniversaries : the 150th anniversary of the French Red Cross (founded in 1864, one year after the ICRC) and the 100 years of partnership between the humanitarian organization and the French Post.
It is indeed in August 1914 that the French President Raymond Poincaré signed the decree authorizing the postal administration to issue stamps including surcharges in favor of the Red Cross (the 1st stamp issued with a 5c surcharge was the "Semeuse camée 10c").
The French Red Cross is now composed of 54 000 volunteers and 14,000 employees who help people in difficulty in the fields of health and social action.
The French Post has kept the format (a strip of five stamps and a separable illustrated margin) used the previous years for the special "Red Cross" souvenir sheet issued at the end of the year.

After the young illustrator Pénélope Bagieu in 2012 or the Iranian-born French cartoonist, painter and film director Marjane Satrapi in 2013, it is this time the French comic writer, animator and film director Sylvain Chomet (born 1963) who designed this new souvenir sheet (print run : 499,700) issued in preview sale on November 7, 2014, during the "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris as well as at the "Carré d'Encre".
It is that sheet that was used on the first day cover above with its usual red postmark issued only for the French Red Cross charity stamps (€ 2.00 donated to the association when you're buying this sheet).
Through these 5 stamps, a trip back in time is proposed, from the creation of the Red Cross in 1864 by Henry Dunant to the assistance to Haiti earthquake victims in 2010.
The other 2 illustrated stamps feature the "white angels", the name given to nurses and aid workers who cared for soldiers during the first world war as well as the assistance to the deportees, with this nurse's gesture of generosity accompanying a deportee after his liberation from a concentration camp in 1945...

These five stamps have in common the presence of a red cross on the illustration, on Dunant's buttonhole, on the uniform of the white angel and nurse or as a child in Haiti.
As in previous years, the stamp in the middle is only depicting a red cross on a white background as well as the slogan "150 years by your side" here.
The "assistance to the deportees" stamp was also used on the first day cover above. Thank you very much Jean-Claude :-)
To note that a portrait of Henry Dunant was already featured on the "Red Cross" souvenir sheet issued in 2009 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Solferino, which prompted Dunant to create the Red Cross...
