Russia-North Korea joint stamp issue : 70th anniversary of the liberation of Korea

Less than a year after a joint issue between the two countries (birds of prey - the 66th anniversary of diplomatic relations), the two postal administrations of the Russian Federation and North Korea have issued on August 28, 2015, a new joint stamp (the 4th joint issue between the two countries since 2005), this time devoted to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Korean peninsula.
After 35 years of Japanese occupation, the Korean Peninsula was actually liberated in August 1945 after the surrender of the Empire of Japan, and then divided into two zones of occupation administered respectively by the United States in the south and USSR in the north.

During the Japanese occupation, a resistance movement at several levels (cultural, political, military) was set up, embodied in particular by the future North Korean President Kim Il-sung (1912-1994).
This liberation was made possible especially after the Soviet declaration of war and the invasion of Manchukuo by Soviet forces from August 8, 1945.
The Russian version of this joint stamp (19 rubles, design : A. Povarihin, print run : 288,000) was used in two copies on this pretty illustrated envelope (Smolny Cathedral) sent from St. Petersburg on September 2, 2015. Thank you very much Yuri :-)
That stamp is featuring the 60 meters-high Arch of Triumph erected in 1982 in Pyongyang to commemorate the liberation of Korea, but also the 70th anniversary of the great leader Kim Il-sung.
To note that this monument is composed of 25500 blocks of white granite, corresponding to the age (number of days) of Kim Il-sung in 1982...
To note also that the North Korean stamp is a little bit different with this Arch of Triumph depicted under another angle.
