Tribute to painter Paul Klee in Germany

The Swiss-German painter and graphic artist Paul Klee (1879-1940), one of the major artists of the first half of the 20th century, was born and died in Switzerland, explaining why he was in the spotlight in the past on stamps issued in Switzerland or Germany, in particular in 1979 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The Swiss Post had also issued a stamp in 2005 to mark the opening of the Paul Klee Centre in Bern, where a large number of his works are exhibited.
On December 3, 2015, the Deutsche Post has released a new stamp dedicated to the work of Paul Klee, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his death.

It is that stamp (€ 2.40, printed in sheet of 10 stamps), designed by Sibylle and Fritz Haase, which was used to frank the cover above sent on January 25, 2016 from Hamburg. Thank you very much Lars !
The work of Paul Klee, often described as "enigmatic", has been associated with various artistic movements (Bauhaus, surrealism, expressionism).
Klee knew his first major success in 1917 during WW1 and the work reproduced on that stamp, "Celestial blossoms above the yellow house (the chosen house)" dates from this time.
This small painting (23 x 15 cm), exhibited in the Museum Berggruen (National Gallery in Berlin) evokes the horrors of this war, transporting the viewer into a fantasy world...
