Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris on FDC from France

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre sur FDC de France

A l'occasion du Salon Philatélique de Printemps organisé à Paris du 9 au 11 mars 2017, un nouveau timbre a été mis en circulation, consacré au quartier parisien de Montmartre, en particulier à la basilique du Sacré-Cœur et au moulin de la galette.
Un grand merci Roland pour ce FDC concernant ce timbre (0,73€, tirage : 1500000), créé et gravé par André Lavergne, avec TAD de Paris (conception : Mathilde Laurent) représentant ce même moulin de la galette !
On the occasion of the "Salon Philatélique de Printemps" held in Paris from 9 to 11 March 2017, a new stamp has been put into circulation, devoted to the Parisian district of Montmartre, in particular to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the "Moulin de la Galette".
A big thank you Roland for this FDC regarding that stamp (€ 0.73, print run : 1,500,000), created and engraved by André Lavergne, with cancellations from Paris (design : Mathilde Laurent) featuring this same "Moulin de la Galette"!


La butte Montmartre (nord de Paris) est un quartier touristique de la capitale française, avec en particulier cette basilique du Sacré-Cœur et la splendide vue sur Paris depuis son parvis.
Cet édifice religieux (architecte : Paul Abadie) a été construit entre 1875 et 1923 dans un style romano-byzantin, suite à la défaite française lors de la guerre de 1870 contre la Prusse.
Montmartre est un quartier qui a inspiré le monde de la culture et des arts (peinture, musique, littérature...), à travers ses nombreux cabarets, ses guinguettes, ses lieux emblématiques...
Le moulin (à vent) de la galette est en réalité constitué de 2 moulins distincts, le "Blute-fin" (1622) et le "Radet" (1717).
Transformés en guingettes, ces 2 moulins produisaient initialement de la farine pour produire un pain de seigle appelé "galette".
The Butte Montmartre (north of Paris) is a tourist district of the French capital, with in particular this Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the splendid view on Paris from the parvis.
This religious edifice (architect : Paul Abadie) was built between 1875 and 1923 in a Roman-Byzantine style, following the French defeat during the war of 1870 against Prussia.
Montmartre is a district that inspired the world of culture and arts (painting, music, literature...), through its many cabarets, its Guinguettes, its emblematic places...
The windmill Moulin de la Galette is actually made up of two distinct mills, the "Blute-fin" (1622) and the "Radet" (1717).
These two windmills, transformed into Guingettes, initially produced flour to make a rye bread called "galette".
