India-Portugal joint stamp issue : folk dances

A big thank you Alka for having sent me this beautiful FDC, with cancellation from Kolkata dated January 7, 2017, regarding the joint souvenir sheet issued between the postal administrations of India and Portugal, having for theme some traditional dances of the 2 countries!
As a reminder, I had already published on this blog a letter franked with the Portuguese version of this souvenir sheet.
This joint issue reminds us of the close links between these two regions of the world for more than 500 years, both economically and culturally through, in particular, these very ancient dances with great similarities : Dandiya, the stick dance of Gujarat (5 Rp stamp) and the dance of the Pauliteiros de Miranda in Portugal (25 Rp stamp).

As for the Portuguese version, the Indian Post issued these two stamps separately (print run : 310,000 each) as well as in this souvenir sheet (print run : 110,000), with some typical ornaments of the two countries in the background.
To note the application on the top left of this envelope of a cachet evoking the famous glasses of Mahatma Gandhi, father of Indian independence and cantor of resistance to oppression through civil disobedience, based on the principle of non-violence.
The mentions "Clean" and "India" in Hindi are inscribed on both glasses, with the slogan "One step towards cleanliness", recalling a current action of the government of Prime Minister Modi.
