"Bicentennial of the Revolution in Pernambuco" stamp on FDC from Brazil

During a period of three months only, from 6 March to 19 May 1817, a Republican Revolution took place mainly in the state of Pernambuco (northeast Brazil) but also in the neighboring states of Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceara.
This revolt, inspired by the Enlightenment and supported by different Masonic lodges, aimed at the absolute power of the Portuguese monarchy, in particular taxes levied in the port of Recife to finance the court of Dom João VI, King since 1816.
Despite its short duration, this Republican Revolution marked the history of Brazil, being the only anti-colonial revolt in the history of the Portuguese monarchy and the 1st movement of independence in Brazil.

In 1917, the Brazilian Post issued an engraved stamp (blue and white) dedicated to the 100th anniversary of this Republican Revolution in Pernambuco.
The Brazilian Post had the good idea to take inspiration from this stamp to celebrate the bicentenary of this Revolution, with a stamp (R$ 1.80, design: Jamile Costa Sallum, print run: 180,000) issued on August 31, 2017.
It is that stamp (with its unusual mention "Correio" which was already included on the stamp of 1917) that appears in two copies on the letter above, with FDC cancellation from Recife, sent on September 1, 2017 from São Paulo. Thank you very much Marcelo!
That stamp represents the revolutionary flag of 1817, adopted as official flag of the state of Pernambuco in 1917.
This flag is composed of a blue part (with a rainbow, a sun of freedom and a star - there were 3 stars on the flag of 1817, symbolizing the 3 states of Pernambuco, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte) and a white part including a red cross, Catholicism being then state religion.
