"The Great Silk Road" m/s on cover from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

On November 24, 2017, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a splendid souvenir sheet (1 stamp) dedicated to the mythical Great Silk Road, this ancient network of trade routes between Asia and Europe, connecting the city of Chang'an (present-day Xi'an) in China to the city of Antioch (today in Turkey).
I was lucky enough to receive the letter below sent by registered mail from Bishkek on December 13, 2017, franked with this souvenir sheet (design: Vitaliu Pogolşa, print run: 7,000)!
The longest stretch of this Silk Road, operational between the 2nd century BC and the 15th century AD, crossed a part of Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan where ancient sites (commercial settlements, caravanserais...) testify of this time, such as Djul, Suyab, Novokent, Balasagun, Borskoon, Tash-Rabat, Osh or Uzgen.

The Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor (5,000 km), involving China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.
The stamp of this souvenir sheet (KGS 150) evokes the historic route of this silk road, a caravan of camels, Chinese vases and modern means of transport including a French high-speed train!
The margins of this souvenir sheet are featuring an old Chinese junk, a compass, a loom, a fan, a starry sky and a red dragon.

I also had the chance to receive the very nice official FDC above (print run: 400) regarding this souvenir sheet, with its First Day cancellation also representing a dragon.
I do not know exactly what the illustration on the left evoking this Silk Road refers to, maybe an old Chinese painting?
Finally, it should be noted that the People's Republic of China has put forward the concept of "New Silk Road" in 2013 under the name "Belt and Road Initiative", providing for the creation (until 2030) of an extensive infrastructure network between the western borders of China and Europe, through Central Asian countries and Iran.
