"19th World Amateur Radio Direction Finding Championship" stamps on FDC from South Korea

From September 2 to 8, 2018, South Korea organized in Sokcho (city on the northeast coast of the country) the 19th edition of the World Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) Championship, in collaboration with the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) and the Korean Amateur Radio League (KARL).
Radio direction finding (also known as "fox hunting") is a timed orienteering course that combines both the techniques of radio-location, the use of topographic maps and the use of a compass. The objective is to find radio beacons using direction-finding equipment consisting essentially of a radio receiver, attenuators and a directional antenna.
The first edition of this championship took place in 1980 in Poland, the following being organized every 2 years (the 14th edition had already taken place in 2008 in South Korea).
