EUROPA 2019 (National birds) stamp set on FDC from Greece

The little owl, attribute of the goddess Athena, symbol of knowledge and wisdom in ancient Greece, is sometimes considered as the national bird of Greece (it appears on the € 1 coin) but was curiously not chosen to appear on the EUROPA series (2 stamps), issued on May 9, 2019 (the Europe Day) and having the national birds for theme ...
Designed by Anthoula Lygka, these two stamps (print run: 352,000 for the € 0.90 stamp - 552,000 for the € 3.40 stamp) were printed in the same sheet of 16 stamps (8 of each) and each in a sheetlet consisting of 8 stamps.
A booklet (print run: 8,000) was also put into circulation, consisting of 4 stamps (2 of each) with only vertical perforations.

Two stamps from this booklet were used on the beautiful letter above, with First Day cancellation from Athens. Thank you very much Spyros!
This postmark, including the EUROPA logo, features a western rock nuthatch (Sitta neumayer), a species of nuthatch native to south-eastern Europe, as well as the Krüper's nuthatch (Sitta krueperi) represented on one of the two Turkish EUROPA stamps issued this year.
This bird (€ 0.90) lives mainly in gorges, ravines or most often bared rocky outcrops, and sometimes settles in ruins and archaeological sites.
The other stamp (€ 3.40) is dedicated to a species of raptor, the Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae), which nests mainly in the Mediterranean area, especially in the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea and in the Balearic Islands, the Canaries or Malta.
About 4,500 pairs breed in Greece (one-third of which on the islets) where the population is stable despite threats to breeding, feeding and resting habitats.
This bird winters in Madagascar and during the migration season, 70% of the world's population lives in Greece.
