Ouverture des jeux paralympiques de PyeongChang - TAD spécial en Corée du sud

Du 9 au 18 mars 2018 a eu lieu à PyeongChang (Corée du sud) la 12ème édition des jeux paralympiques d'hiver avec environ 600 athlètes (venant de 49 pays différents) engagés dans 6 disciplines (ski alpin, ski de fond, biathlon, curling en fauteuil, hockey sur glace et snowboard).
Le 9 mars 2018, jour de la cérémonie d'ouverture de ces jeux paralympiques, la poste coréenne a mis en circulation un TAD spécial, représentant la mascotte, Bandabi, un ours noir d'Asie.

From March 9 to 18, 2018 took place in PyeongChang, Korea the 12th edition of the Paralympic Winter Games with about 600 athletes (coming from 49 different countries) engaged in 6 disciplines (alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, wheelchair curling, para ice hockey and snowboard).
On March 9, 2018, the day of the opening ceremony of these Paralympic Games, the Korean Post issued a special postmark, representing the mascot, Bandabi, an Asian black bear.

Ji-Ho a affranchi sa lettre avec les 2 timbres (330 won, tirage : 649999 chacun, conception : Kim, So-jeong) émis le 9 février 2018, jour d'ouverture des 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver de PyeongChang, consacrés respectivement aux médailles olympiques (or, argent, bronze) et au parcours de la flamme olympique, la torche en particulier.
A noter que la poste coréenne avait émis, le 18 janvier 2018, un bloc-feuillet composé de 10 timbres de forme hexagonale, consacrés à ces jeux paralympiques d'hiver.
Les USA (36 médailles) ont dominé le classement des médailles lors de ces jeux paralympiques d'hiver, devant la Russie (sou bannière neutre), le Canada et la France.
Ji-Ho used on his letter the two stamps (330 won, print run: 649,999 each, design: Kim, So-jeong) issued on February 9, 2018, the opening day of the 23rd PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, devoted respectively to the Olympic medals (gold, silver, bronze) and the Olympic torch relay.
It should be noted that on January 18, 2018, the Korean Post issued a sheetlet of 10 hexagonal stamps dedicated to these Paralympic Winter Games.
The USA (36 medals) dominated the medal standings at these Paralympic Winter Games, ahead of Russia (under neutral banner), Canada and France.

Un jour avant la Kyrgyz Express Post, la poste kirghize, le 2ème opérateur postal désigné du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation le 22 février 2018, une série de 4 timbres consacrée aux 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 9 février au 25 février 2018 à PyeongChang en Corée du Sud.
Ces 4 timbres (tirage : 5100 chacun) ont également été imprimés dans un joli bloc-feuillet (tirage : 2700), présent sur la lettre ci-dessous (avec TAD Premier Jour), envoyée en recommandé de Bichkek le 2 mars 2018. Merci beaucoup Anatolii !
A noter que ni la mention "PyeongChang", ni les anneaux olympiques ne figurent sur ce bloc-feuillet (uniquement la mention "Jeux olympiques d'hiver 2018" en kirghize, russe, anglais et coréen dans les marges), le TAD Premier Jour ou l'enveloppe...
One day before the Kyrgyz Express Post, the Kyrgyz Post, the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, issued on February 22, 2018, a set of 4 stamps dedicated to the 23rd Winter Olympic Games, organized from 9 February to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, Korea.
These 4 stamps (print run: 5,100 each) were also printed in a nice souvenir sheet (print run: 2,700), present on the cover below (with First Day cancellation), sent by registered mail from Bishkek on March 2, 2018. Thank you very much Anatolii!
To note that neither "PyeongChang" nor the Olympic rings are included on this souvenir sheet (only the mention "2018 Olympic Winter Games" in Kyrgyz, Russian, English and Korean in the margins), the FDC postmark or the envelope...

Les 4 timbres de cette série illustrent 4 disciplines au programme de ces jeux : saut à ski (22 KGS), patinage artistique (31 KGS), hockey sur glace (48 KGS) et snowboard (117 KGS).
Une 5ème discipline, le biathlon, est représentée sur le TAD Premier Jour.
Comme quelques autres administrations postales (l'Azerbaïdjan par exemple), la poste kirghize a également mis en circulation cette série en version non dentelée avec tirage limité (300 seulement pour ce bloc-feuillet). 
A PyeongChang, l'équipe olympique du Kirghizstan était composée de 2 athlètes (2 hommes) engagés dans 2 sports (ski de fond et ski alpin), non représentés dans cette série... 
Le Kirghizstan a participé à toutes les éditions des jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1994 (Lillehammer) mais n'a remporté aucune médaille à ce jour.

Hommage aux médaillés olympiques à PyeongChang - TAD spécial tchèque

Afin de célébrer les médaillés olympiques tchèques lors des derniers jeux olympiques d'hiver de PyeongChang (Corée du sud), le bureau principal de Prague 1 a mis circulation, du 1er au 8 mars 2018, un TAD spécial avec mention "Medailové úspěchy České reprezentace" ("succès des médaillés de la délégation tchèque").
Conçu par Miloslav Bláha, ce TAD a été appliqué le 8 mars 2018 sur la lettre ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Slavek !
Slavek a utilisé le timbre (37 CZK) émis le 20 janvier 2018, consacré à l'équipe olympique tchèque lors de ces jeux de PyeongChang, à une épreuve de biathlon en particulier.
In order to celebrate the Czech Olympic medalists at the last Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Korea, the main post office of Prague 1 has put into circulation, from 1st to 8th March 2018, a special postmark with mention "Medailové úspěchy České reprezentace" ("Success of the medalists of the Czech delegation").
Designed by Miloslav Bláha, this postmark was applied on March 8, 2018 on the letter below. Thank you very much Slavek!
Slavek used the stamp (37 CZK) issued on January 20, 2018, dedicated to the Czech Olympic team at these PyeongChang games, to a biathlon event in particular.

Ce TAD représente un podium olympique avec les 3 médailles associées ainsi que 7 étoiles (ou flocons de neige ?) dans la partie basse, évoquant les 7 médailles olympiques remportées par la délégation tchèque (96 athlètes : 28 femmes, 68 hommes) : 2 or (Ester Ledecká en Super-G en ski alpin et géant parallèle de snowboard), 2 argent (en biathlon et patinage de vitesse) et 3 bronze (en biathlon, snowboard et patinage de vitesse).
A PyeongChang, l'équipe tchèque a connu un des meilleurs résultats de son histoire (après Sotchi en 2014 avec 8 médailles).
This cancellation features an Olympic podium with the 3 associated medals as well as 7 stars (or snowflakes?) in the lower part, evoking the 7 Olympic medals won by the Czech delegation (96 athletes: 28 women, 68 men) : 2 gold (Ester Ledecká in Super-G in alpine skiing and parallel giant slalom in snowboard), 2 silver (in biathlon and speed skating) and 3 bronze (in biathlon, snowboard and speed skating).
In PyeongChang, the Czech team known one of the best results in its history (after Sochi in 2014 with 8 medals).

Seulement 2 jours avant la fin de la compétition, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné (l'autre étant la poste kirghize) du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation (le 23 février 2018) un bloc-feuillet (2 timbres) consacré aux 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 9 février au 25 février 2018 à PyeongChang en Corée du Sud.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 400) incluant ces 2 timbres, avec TAD de Bichkek !
Vitaliu Pogolșa a conçu le bloc-feuillet (tirage : 5000), le FDC et le TAD Premier Jour.
J'aime bien ce TAD avec ces 5 flocons de neige évoquant les anneaux olympiques.
Only two days before the end of the competition, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the second designated postal operator (the other one being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation (on 23 February 2018) a souvenir sheet (2 stamps) dedicated to the 23rd Winter Olympic Games, organized from 9 February to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, Korea.
I was lucky enough to receive the official FDC below (print run: 400) including these two stamps, with postmark from Bishkek!

I really like this FDC cancellation with these 5 snow flakes evoking the Olympic rings.

Ces 2 timbres (50 et 150 KGS), au style un peu "old school" à mon avis, évoquent des disciplines au programme des jeux olympiques d'hiver, le ski alpin (avec ce skieur tout droit sorti des années 1970...) et le biathlon.
A noter qu'il s'agit la 1ère série émise par la KEP consacrée à des jeux olympiques d'hiver (une série avait été émise en 2016 pour les jeux de Rio). Pour rappel, les 1ers timbres de la KEP ont été émis en novembre 2014.

These two stamps (50 and 150 KGS), with a little bit "old school" design in my opinion, evoke sport disciplines on the program of the Olympic Winter Games, alpine skiing (with this skier straight out of the 1970s...) and biathlon.
To note that this is the first series issued by KEP devoted to Olympic Winter Games (a series was issued in 2016 for the Summer Games in Rio). As a reminder, the first stamps of the KEP were issued in November 2014.

I was also lucky to receive the nice souvenir sheet above including these two stamps, with the Alpensia Olympic Sliding Centre in the background, where the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton events were organized during these games.

Série "PyeongChang 2018 - Médailles et flamme olympiques" sur FDC de Corée du Sud

Le 9 février 2018, jour d'ouverture des 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver de PyeongChang, la poste coréenne a mis en circulation 2 timbres consacrés respectivement aux médailles olympiques (or, argent, bronze) et au parcours de la flamme olympique, la torche en particulier.
Ces 2 timbres (330 won, tirage : 649999 chacun), conçus par Kim, So-jeong, ont été imprimés par Cartor (avec application d'un vernis transparent) dans une même feuille composée de 14 timbres (7 de chaque).
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant figurent sur le joli FDC ci-dessous avec TAD (emblème de ces jeux) de Nambusan. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho !
On February 9, 2018, the opening day of the 23rd PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, the Korean Post issued two stamps respectively devoted to the Olympic medals (gold, silver, bronze) and the Olympic torch relay, the olympic flame in particular.
These two stamps (330 won, print run: 649,999 each), designed by Kim, So-jeong, were printed by Cartor (with application of a UV lacquer) in the same sheet composed of 14 stamps (7 of each).
These two se-tenant stamps are present on the nice FDC below with cancellations (emblem of these games) from Nambusan. Thank you very much Ji-Ho!

Les 3 médailles olympiques, dévoilées le 21 septembre 2017, ont été créées par Lee Suk-woo, incluant les anneaux olympiques sur la face avant et l'emblème de ces jeux et le nom de la discipline sportive au dos.
La face avant est recouverte de lignes diagonales dynamiques obtenues à partir des consonnes de l'alphabet hangeul (ㅍㅊㄷㄱㅇㄹㅍ) utilisées dans "Jeux Olympiques d'hiver de PyeongChang", façonnées sous des prismes, puis découpées en forme de cercle...
Le ruban est conçu à partir de gapsa, un textile coréen traditionnel utilisé pour fabriquer le hanbok, le costume traditionnel coréen.
The three Olympic medals, unveiled on September 21, 2017, were created by Lee Suk-woo, including the Olympic rings on the front and the emblem of these games and the name of the sport discipline on the back.
The front is covered with dynamic diagonal lines obtained from Hangeul alphabet consonants (ㅍㅊ ㄷㄱㅇ ㄹㅍ) used in "Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018", stretched out and cut in the three dimensional shape of a cylinder to form the medal...
The ribbon is made from Gapsa, a traditional Korean fabric used to make hanbok, the Korean traditional costume.

3 timbres extraits de cette feuille ont été également utilisés sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus.
L'autre timbre représente la torche utilisée pour le parcours de la flamme olympique avec le stade olympique dans le fond, où la cérémonie d'ouverture (et de fermeture) de ces jeux avait lieu.
La flamme olympique a été allumée à Olympie en Grèce le 24 octobre 2017 puis a traversé une partie de la Grèce avant d'arriver sur le col coréen le 1er novembre 2017, parcourant plus de 2000 km pendant 101 jours, jusqu'à la cérémonie d'ouverture de ces jeux.
A noter que cette torche a été portée par 7500 relayeurs sur le sol coréen, en référence à la population de la péninsule coréenne (sud et nord), 75 millions d'habitants.
Three stamps from this sheet were also used on the First Day cover above.
The other stamp depicts the torch used for the Olympic Torch Relay with the Olympic Stadium in the background, where the opening (and closing) ceremony of these games was held.
The Olympic Flame was lit in Olympia, Greece on October 24, 2017, then crossed a part of Greece before arriving on the Korean soil on November 1, 2017, traveling more than 2,000 km for 101 days, until the Opening ceremony of these games.
It should be noted that this torch was carried by 7,500 torchbearers on Korean soil, in reference to the population of the Korean peninsula (south and north), 75 million inhabitants.

Je ne sais pas non plus à quelle date ces 3 cartes pré-timbrées (300 won, Ranunculus ternatus) ont été émises ?

Le TAD ci-dessus a été mis en circulation à l'occasion d'une exposition philatélique organisée au musée postal de Séoul.
Les 2 autres timbres courants complétant l'affranchissement de ces 3 cartes ont été émis respectivement le 10 septembre 2001 (30 won, espèce de vigne asiatique "Vitis amurensis Ruprecht") et le 2 mars 2006 (100 won, plante "Crinum asiaticum".
Cette plante aux fleurs blanches ne pousse en Corée du sud que sur la petite île de Tokki-seom (ou île du lapin) située au large de l'île de Jeju dans le détroit de Corée.
The postmark above was put into circulation during a philatelic exhibition held at the Seoul Postal Museum. 
The 2 other definitive stamps completing the postage on these 3 cards were issued respectively on September 10, 2001 (30 won, Asian vine species "Vitis amurensis Ruprecht") and March 2, 2006 (100 won, plant "Crinum asiaticum").
This white-flowered plant grows only in Korea on the small island of Tokki-seom (or Rabbit Island) off the coast of Jeju Island in the Korea Strait.

Les 2 autres TAD ci-dessus évoquent respectivement le patinage artistique (TAD du 1er février 2018 mis en circulation lors d'une exposition philatélique à Gangneung) et le Palais des glaces de Gangneung (TAD du 9 février 2018, mis en circulation lors d'une exposition philatélique à Damyang) où avaient lieu les épreuves de short-track et patinage artistique.
The other two postmarks above respectively refer to figure skating (postmark of February 1, 2018 put into circulation during a philatelic exhibition held in Gangneung) and to the Gangneung Ice Palace (postmark of February 9, 2018, put into circulation during a philatelic exhibition held in Damyang) where short track speed skating and figure skating events took place.

Le 1er février 2018, la poste polonaise a mis en circulation un timbre de grand format (5,20 PLN) consacré aux 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 9 février au 25 février 2018 à PyeongChang en Corée du Sud.
Ce timbre (tirage : 120000), conçu par Michał Korolec et imprimé en feuillet de 4 timbres, est spécial car il ne représente pas explicitement un sport d'hiver mais 4 pictogrammes colorés évoquant la montagne, la neige, les skis et une médaille.
L'emblème du comité olympique polonais (anneaux olympiques et drapeau) est également inclus en haut à gauche sur ce timbre.

On February 1, 2018, the Polish Post issued a large format stamp (PLN 5.20) devoted to the 23rd Winter Olympic Games, held from 9 to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea.
That stamp (print run: 120,000), designed by Michał Korolec and printed in a minisheet of 4 stamps, is special because it does not explicitly represent a winter sport but four colorful pictograms evoking mountains, snow, skis and a medal.
The emblem of the Polish Olympic Committee (Olympic rings and flag) is also included at the top left on that stamp.

Le hashtag #białoczerwoni ("les blancs et rouges") fait référence à l'équipe polonaise à travers les couleurs du drapeau national.
A PyeongChang, l'équipe olympique de Pologne était composée de 62 athlètes (25 femmes, 37 hommes) engagés dans 11 sports, et a remporté 2 médailles en saut à ski : médaille d'or pour Kamil Stoch (grand tremplin) et médaille de bronze par équipe.
A noter que Kamil Stoch avait déjà remporté 2 médailles d'or (grand tremplin et petit tremplin) lors des jeux de Sotchi en 2014 !
We find the 4 pictograms present on the stamp, on this envelope as well as 5 others : medal (medal), góry (mountains), arenę (stadium), śnieg (snow), narty (skis), cel (target), trasę ( track), meta (finish line) and łyżwy (skates).
The geometric shapes and bright colors of these pictograms refer to the rich culture of South Korea.
To note also on this envelope the slogan "Jesteśmy jedną drużyną" ("We are all a team"), the main slogan of the promotional campaign of the Polish Olympic team for these PyeongChang 2018 games.
The hashtag #białoczerwoni (the "Whites and Reds") refers to the Polish team through the colors of the national flag.
In PyeongChang, the Polish Olympic team was composed of 62 athletes (25 women, 37 men) engaged in 11 sports, and won 2 medals in ski jumping: gold medal for Kamil Stoch (large hill) and bronze medal for men's team event.
To note that Kamil Stoch had already won 2 gold medals (large hill and normal hill) at the Sochi Olympic Games in 2014!

Comme cela est le cas depuis les jeux d'Albertville en 1992, la poste croate a émis à nouveau cette année un timbre consacré aux 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 9 février au 25 février 2018 à PyeongChang en Corée du Sud.
Ce timbre (5,80 HRK, tirage : 150000), émis le 7 février 2018, figure en 2 exemplaires sur la jolie enveloppe illustrée ci-dessous envoyée le 26 février 2018 depuis la ville de Rijeka. Merci beaucoup Dragan !
Ce timbre, conçu par Mario Petrak, a été imprimé (comme pour le timbre "Sotchi 2014") dans un feuillet composé de 9 timbres + 1 vignette (emblème du comité olympique croate) avec des mentions dans les marges inférieures et supérieures comme ce même emblème et le libellé de ces jeux (en anglais) sur cette lettre.
As it has been the case since the Albertville Games in 1992, the Croatian Post again issued this year a stamp dedicated to the 23rd Winter Olympic Games, held from 9 to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, Korea.
That stamp (HRK 5.80, print run: 150,000), issued on February 7, 2018, is present in two copies on the very nice illustrated envelope below sent on February 26, 2018 from the city of Rijeka. Thank you very much Dragan!
That stamp, designed by Mario Petrak, was printed (as for the "Sochi 2014" stamp) in a sheetlet consisting of 9 stamps + 1 coupon (emblem of the Croatian Olympic Committee) with mentions in the lower and upper margins such as this same emblem and the wording of these games (in English on this letter).

New Czech pictorial cancellation: 50 years of the first Olympic Winter Games gold medal

Nouvelle flamme tchèque : 50 ans de la 1ère médaille d'or olympique (jeux d'hiver)

Le 11 février 1968, 5ème jour des jeux olympiques d'hiver de Grenoble, Jiří Raška (1941-2012) remportait la médaille d'or en saut à ski, dans l'épreuve du petit tremplin (il sera également médaillé d'argent sur le grand tremplin).
Jiří Raška permettait ainsi à la Tchécoslovaquie de remporter sa 1ère médaille d'or lors de jeux olympiques d'hiver (depuis les 1ers jeux en 1924) et devenait une véritable star dans son pays, à l'image d'un Jean-Claude Killy en France. Il sera désigné en 2003 "skieur tchèque du 20ème siècle".
50 ans jour pour jour après cet exploit sportif, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation (le 11 février 2018) une nouvelle intéressante flamme consacrée à cette 1ère médaille d'or tchécoslovaque lors de jeux olympiques d'hiver ("ZOH" en tchèque).
On February 11, 1968, the fifth day of the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble, France, Jiří Raška (1941-2012) won the gold medal in ski jumping, in the normal hill individual event (he was also silver medalist in the large hill individual event).
Jiří Raška thus allowed Czechoslovakia to win its first ever gold medal in Olympic Winter Games (since the first Games in 1924) and became a real star in his country, like Jean-Claude Killy in France. He was named in 2003 "Czech skier of the 20th century".
50 years to the day after this sport achievement, the Czech Post put into circulation (on February 11, 2018) a new interesting pictorial cancellation dedicated to this first Czechoslovak gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games ("ZOH" in Czech).

An Ice Hockey Team in Gold at the Nagano 1998 Olympic Games - New Czech meter cancellation

Le 9 février 2018, jour d'ouverture des jeux olympiques d'hiver de PyeongChang, le bureau de poste principal de Prague 1 a mis en circulation une nouvelle empreinte de machine à affranchir (EMA) rouge (valeur 28 CZK ici) consacrée au 20ème anniversaire du triomphe de l'équipe tchèque de hockey sur glace, championne olympique lors des jeux de Nagano en 1998.
Cette victoire (1-0 contre la Russie en finale) a marqué le pays puisque la République Tchèque remportait sa 1ère médaille d'or lors de jeux olympiques d'hiver après son indépendance en 1993.
On February 9, 2018, the opening day of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, the main post office of Prague 1 put into circulation a new red meter cancellation (with nominal value of 28 CZK here) dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the triumph of the Czech ice hockey team, Olympic champion at the Nagano Olympic Games in 1998.
This victory (1-0 against Russia in the final) marked the country as Czech Republic won its first gold medal at Olympic Winter Games after the independence in 1993.

Pyeongchang Winter Olympics - Special postmark on prepaid envelope from Moldova

La République de Moldavie participe en tant qu'état indépendant aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1994 (Lillehammer) et la poste moldave avait émis des séries de timbres consacrés à ces jeux d'hiver en 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 et 2014.
Curieusement, aucun timbre au programme cette année pour cette 23ème édition des jeux olympiques d'hiver organisés du 9 au 25 février 2018 à Pyeongchang en Corée du sud...
Un TAD spécial (conception : Lilian Iațco) a toutefois été mis en circulation par le bureau postal principal de Chişinău (MD-2012) pendant toute la durée de ces jeux.
Ce TAD incluant la mention "Sportifs moldaves aux jeux olympiques", a été appliqué le 9 février 2018 (1er jour de ces jeux) sur l'enveloppe ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
The Republic of Moldova has been participating as an independent state at the Olympic Winter Games since 1994 (Lillehammer) and the Post of Moldova issued series of stamps devoted to these winter games in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
Curiously, no stamp in the program this year for this 23rd edition of the Olympic Winter Games organized from 9 to 25 February 2018 in Pyeongchang, Korea...
However, a special postmark (design: Lilian Iaţco) was put into circulation by the Chişinău Main Post Office (MD-2012) for the duration of these games.
This cancellation including the mention "Moldovan athletes at the Olympic Games", was applied on February 9, 2018 (the first day of these games) on the envelope below. Thank you very much Nicolae!

Nicolae has completed the postage of this envelope with the 2 stamps of the series (design: Vitaliu Pogolşa) issued on February 10, 2006 on the occasion of the Olympic Winter Games in Turin, representing the same disciplines (Alpine skiing and luge) as the ones on the postmark!
The stamp used on the other side of this envelope above (1.50 rubles then 1.50 Lei since February 1, 2006) is part of the first definitive series (5 stamps) issued on May 24, 1992, depicting the country's coat of arms.
To note also on the right the postmark put into circulation by the Post of Moldova from January 2 to December 31, 2018, dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage ("Anul european al patrimoniului cultural") about which I have already spoken on this blog.

La poste hongroise n'avait pas émis de timbre en 2014 pour les jeux olympiques d'hiver de Sotchi (des timbres avaient été émis pour les jeux d'hiver précédents) mais un timbre (445 HUF) a bien été mis en circulation le 2 février 2018 à l'occasion des 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver ("XXIII. Téli olimpiai játékok" en hongrois) organisés du 9 au 25 février 2018 à Pyeongchang en Corée du sud.
Ce timbre (tirage : 200000, imprimé en feuille de 50 timbres), conçu par Luca Héjja et László Ördögh (studio de design Graphasel), figure sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 9 février 2018, le jour d'ouverture de ces jeux, depuis le village de Gencsapáti (ouest du pays, près de la frontière autrichienne). The Hungarian Post had not issued any stamp in 2014 for the Sochi Olympic Winter Games (stamps had been issued for the previous winter games) but a stamp (HUF 445) was put into circulation on February 2, 2018 on the occasion of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games ("XXIII. Téli olimpiai játékok" in Hungarian) held from 9 to 25 February 2018 in Pyeongchang, Korea.
That stamp (print run: 200,000, printed in sheet of 50 stamps), designed by Luca Héjja and László Ördögh (Graphasel design studio), was used on the nice letter below sent on February 9, 2018, the opening day of these games, from the village of Gencsapáti (west of the country, near the Austrian border). Comme pour les jeux de Rio en 2016, ce timbre mentionne l'équipe olympique hongroise ("Magyar Olimpiai Csapat") ainsi que le nombre de médailles d'or (176) remportées par la Hongrie aux jeux olympiques.
A Pyeongchang, la délégation hongroise était composée de 19 athlètes (10 femmes, 9 hommes)  engagés dans 6 sports (ski alpin, ski de fond, patinage artistique, ski acrobatique, patinage de vitesse sur piste courte et patinage de vitesse).
Avant ces jeux, la Hongrie n'avait remporté que 6 médailles (2 argent,4 bronze) aux jeux olympiques d'hiver, uniquement en patinage artistique, la dernière aux jeux de Lake Placid en 1980 !
La plus grande chance de médaille à ces jeux était en patinage de vitesse sur piste courte (ou short-track), la discipline représentée sur ce timbre, avec les frères Shaoang Liu et Shaolin Sándor Liu en particulier.
Le 22 février 2018, les 2 frères Liu, avec Csaba Burjan et Viktor Knoch, ont remporté la 1ère médaille d'or de l'histoire de la Hongrie aux jeux olympiques d'hiver, dans l'épreuve du relais 5000 mètres.
As for the Rio Games in 2016, that stamp mentions the Hungarian Olympic team ("Magyar Olimpiai Csapat") as well as the number of gold medals (176) won by Hungary at the Olympic Games.
In Pyeongchang, the Hungarian delegation consisted of 19 athletes (10 women, 9 men) engaged in 6 sports (alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, figure skating, freestyle skiing, short track speed skating and speed skating).
Before these games, Hungary had won only 6 medals (2 silver, 4 bronze) at the Olympic Winter Games, only in figure skating, the last one at the Lake Placid Games in 1980!
The greatest medal luck at these games was in short track speed skating, the discipline featured on the stamp, with brothers Shaoang Liu and Shaolin Sándor Liu in particular.
On February 22, 2018, the two Liu brothers, along with Csaba Burjan and Viktor Knoch, won the first gold medal in Hungarian history at the Olympic Winter Games in the Men's 5,000m Relay event.

Comme cela est le cas depuis 2002 (Salt Lake City), la poste tchèque a à nouveau mis en circulation, le 20 janvier 2018, 2 timbres à l'occasion des jeux olympiques et paralympiques d'hiver à Pyeongchang en Corée du sud.
Lors des précédents jeux olympiques d'hiver à Sotchi, la délégation tchèque avait remporté 8 médailles dont 5 en biathlon, le sport représenté sur ce nouveau timbre (37 CZK), conçu par Zdeněk Netopil, montrant un athlète lors d'une séance de tir.
Ce timbre comporte la mention et l'emblème (drapeau tchèque et anneaux olympiques) de l'équipe olympique tchèque.
As it has been the case since 2002 (Salt Lake City), the Czech Post again issued, on January 20, 2018, two stamps for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, Korea.
In the previous Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the Czech delegation won 8 medals including 5 in biathlon, the sport featured on this new stamp (37 CZK), designed by Zdeněk Netopil, showing an athlete during a shooting session.

The engraving on the envelope above, by Jaroslav Tvrdoň, also shows a biathlete, during the cross-country skiing phase.
In Pyeongchang, the Czech team consists of 96 athletes (28 women, 68 men) engaged in 13 of the 15 Olympic disciplines.
On the eve of the closing ceremony of these Olympic Games, Czech Republic won 7 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze), Ester Ledecká having made history, being the first athlete in history at the Olympic Winter Games to win a gold medal in two different sports (Super-G in alpine skiing and parallel giant slalom in snowboard) during the same edition!

From March 9 to 18, 2018 will be held in Pyeongchang the 12th edition of the Paralympic Winter Games with about 600 athletes (from 42 different countries) engaged in 6 disciplines.
The stamp (16 CZK) dedicated to the Czech Paralympic team in Pyeongchang, represents a Paralympic alpine skiing event, as well as the engraving (by Jaroslav Tvrdoň) on the FDC above.
In Pyeongchang, the Czech Paralympic delegation will consist of 24 athletes, engaged in 2 sports (alpine skiing and sledge hockey).

Avant un timbre consacré aux jeux paralympiques de Pyeongchang, émis le 23 février 2018, la poste slovaque a mis en circulation, le 19 janvier 2018, un timbre (1€, tirage : 200000, conception : Peter Uchnár) ayant pour thème les jeux olympiques d'hiver de Pyeongchang, organisés du 9 au 25 février 2018 en Corée du sud.
Un grand merci Miloš pour ce joli FDC officiel ci-dessous concernant ce timbre, avec TAD de Bratislava (pictogrammes de sports d'hiver) !
A noter que ce timbre, représentant une skieuse, ne mentionne pas ces jeux de Pyeongchang mais uniquement l'emblème du comité olympique slovaque ("Slovenský olympijský výbor").
Previous to a stamp dedicated to the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, issued on February 23, 2018, the Slovak Post put into circulation, on January 19, 2018, a stamp (€ 1.00, print run: 200,000, design: Peter Uchnár) on the theme of the Olympic Winter Games of Pyeongchang, organized from 9 to 25 February 2018 in South Korea.

La délégation slovaque est composée de 56 athlètes (15 femmes, 41 hommes) à Pyeongchang, engagés dans 7 sports (ski alpin, biathlon, ski de fond, patinage artistique, snowboard, hockey sur glace et luge).
A ce jour, la Slovaquie a obtenu à Pyeongchang son meilleur résultat depuis sa 1ère participation aux jeux d'hiver en 1994, avec 1 médaille d'or et 2 médailles d'argent, toutes remportées par Anastasiya Kuzmina en biathlon (elle fut déjà championne olympique en 2010 et 2014).
Depuis les jeux de Vancouver en 2010, la Slovaquie a remporté toutes ses médailles en biathlon, d'où sans doute cette illustration sur l'enveloppe, consacrée à ce sport...
L'autre timbre ci-dessus (0,10€) fait partie de la jolie série courante (la 1ère série slovaque libellée en euros) émise le 2 janvier 2009, consacrée à l'art roman, à l'église Saint Jean-Baptiste de Pominovce (12ème siècle) ici.

Since the Vancouver games in 2010, Slovakia has won all its medals in biathlon, hence this illustration on the envelope, dedicated to this sport...
The other stamp above (€ 0.10) is part of the nice definitive series (first Slovak series denominated in Euros) issued on January 2, 2009, dedicated to Romanesque art, to the church of Saint John the Baptist of Pominovce (12th century) here.

Timbres Arts et Jeux olympiques et paralympiques de Pyeongchang sur lettre tchèque

Le 20 janvier 2018, la poste tchèque a émis deux nouveaux timbres consacrés respectivement aux jeux olympiques (37 CZK, biathlon) et paralympiques (16 CZK, ski alpin handisport) de Pyeongchang en Corée du Sud.
Ces 2 timbres ont été utilisés sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé de Prague ce 1er jour d'émission. Merci beaucoup Bret !
Bret a également utilisé, à gauche, un timbre (tarif permanent domestique "A" - 16 CZK actuellement), émis le même jour, consacré à la tradition de la conception de timbres tchèques, à Jiří Bouda (1934-2015) en particulier.

On January 20, 2018, the Czech Post issued two new stamps dedicated respectively to the Olympic (37 CZK, Biathlon) and Paralympics (16 CZK, Paralympic alpine skiing) games of Pyeongchang in South Korea.
These two stamps were used on the beautiful letter below sent by registered mail from Prague on this first day of issue. Thank you very much Bret!
Bret also used, on the left, a stamp (domestic permanent tariff "A" - 16 CZK currently), issued the same day, devoted to the tradition of the Czech stamp design, to stamp designer Jiří Bouda (1934-2015) in particular.

Bret a utilisé un 5ème timbre (30 CZK), émis le 10 novembre 2010, consacré à une œuvre du peintre et graphiste tchèque Karel Špillar (1871-1939) intitulée "Printemps" peinte en 1912, conservée à la Galerie nationale de Prague.
Ses premières œuvres ont été influencées par son séjour à Paris et par l'expressionnisme, puis par le néo romantisme et le symbolisme de l'Art Nouveau.
Un des chefs-d'œuvre de Špillar est la décoration de la Maison municipale de Prague, en particulier une mosaïque rendant hommage à la ville de Prague datant de 1909.
Bret used a 5th stamp (30 CZK), issued on November 10, 2010, devoted to a work by the Czech painter and graphic artist Karel Špillar (1871-1939) entitled "Spring" painted in 1912, exhibited in the National Gallery of Prague.
His early works were influenced by his stay in Paris, and by Expressionism, and after by neo romanticism and symbolism of Art Nouveau.
One of the Špillar's masterpieces is the decoration of the Municipal House in Prague, in particular a mosaic (dating from 1909) paying tribute to the city of Prague.

Bret a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer le feuillet commémoratif ci-dessus incluant un TAD (conception : Jan Kavan) mis en circulation le 24 janvier 2018 par le bureau principal de Prague 1, consacré au 70ème anniversaire de la naissance du peintre, graphiste, illustrateur et pédagogue Pavel Sivko (né à Prague en 1948).
Pavel Sivko a conçu une vingtaine de timbres pour la poste tchèque depuis 2001, en particulier le timbre (16 CZK) utilisé sur ce feuillet, émis le 6 septembre 2017, consacré aux 170 ans de l'éclairage public au gaz à Prague.
Ce feuillet numéroté entre 0167001 et 0168700 a été édité à seulement 1700 exemplaires.
Bret was kind enough to send me the commemorative sheet above including a postmark (design: Jan Kavan) put into circulation on January 24, 2018 by the main post office of Prague 1, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of the painter, graphic designer, illustrator and pedagogue Pavel Sivko (born in Prague in 1948).
Pavel Sivko designed about 20 stamps for the Czech Post since 2001, in particular the stamp (16 CZK) used on this sheet, issued on September 6, 2017, dedicated to the 170 years of public street gas lighting in Prague.
This numbered sheet, between 0167001 and 0168700, was published at only 1,700 copies.

Le 29 janvier 2018, la délégation officielle des athlètes suisses pour les 23èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver de Pyeongchang a été dévoilée : 168 athlètes (71 femmes, 97 hommes) engagés dans 14 des 15 disciplines olympiques (toutes sauf le short track).
Ce même jour, la poste suisse a mis en circulation un timbre spécial (1 CHF, conception: Dominique Wittwer) afin d'encourager la Team Switzerland (#TeamSui) pendant ces jeux olympiques, organisés du 9 au 25 février 2018 à Pyeongchang en Corée du sud (les 3èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver ayant lieu en Asie).
On January 29, 2018, the official delegation of Swiss athletes for the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang was unveiled: 168 athletes (71 women, 97 men) engaged in 14 of the 15 Olympic disciplines (all except short track speed skating).
That same day, the Swiss Post put into circulation a special stamp (CHF 1.00, design: Dominique Wittwer) to encourage the Team Switzerland (#TeamSui) during these Olympic Games, organized from 9 to 25 February 2018 in Pyeongchang, Korea (the 3rd Olympic Winter Games taking place in Asia).

Ce timbre a été imprimé (par Joh. Enschedé aux Pays-Bas) en feuillet de 8 timbres, trois ayant été utilisés pour affranchir la jolie lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 9 février 2018 (jour d'ouverture de ces jeux !) depuis Genève (bureau "Filiale 1200 Genève 3 Rive"). Merci beaucoup Jürgen !
Ce timbre comporte le drapeau suisse et les anneaux olympiques (l'emblème du comité olympique suisse "Swiss Olympic"), un défilé d'athlètes suisses (lors d'une cérémonie d'ouverture probablement) au 1er plan ainsi qu'une vue du Centre de saut à ski d'Alpensia à Pyeongchang.
Le logo de ces jeux de Pyeongchang figure dans la marge supérieure ainsi que le hashtag #Allin4 (Pyeongchang), mis en place par Swiss Olympic pour encourager les athlètes suisses.
That stamp was printed (by Joh Enschedé in the Netherlands) in sheetlet of 8 stamps, three of which being used to frank the nice letter above sent on February 9, 2018 (the opening day of these games!) from Geneva ("Filiale 1200 Genève 3 Rive" post office). Thank you very much Jürgen!
That stamp features the Swiss flag and the Olympic rings (the emblem of the Swiss Olympic Committee - "Swiss Olympic"), a group of Swiss athletes marching (probably) during an opening ceremony in the foreground and a view of the Alpensia Ski Jumping Center in Pyeongchang.
The logo of these Pyeongchang Olympics is present in the top margin as well as the hashtag #Allin4 (Pyeongchang), set up by Swiss Olympic to encourage Swiss athletes.

"Rio 2016 Olympic Games" m/s on cover from Montenegro

Comme cela est le cas pour toutes les éditions des jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver depuis 2006 (Turin), la poste du Monténégro "Pošta Crne Gore" a mis en circulation, le 9 juin 2016, un timbre (0,95€, conception : Đorđije Radević) consacré aux 31èmes jeux olympiques d'été, organisés à Rio de Janeiro du 5 au 21 août 2016.
Ce timbre (tirage : 40000) a été imprimé en feuillet composé de 8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale (logo des jeux de Rio 2016) ainsi que dans un feuillet numéroté (tirage : 5000).
Le bloc-feuillet (n° 1342) a été utilisé pour affranchir la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 14 décembre 2017 depuis Podgorica, la capitale.
As it has been the case for all Summer and Winter Olympic Games since 2006 (Torino), the Montenegrin Post "Pošta Crne Gore" has put into circulation, on June 9, 2016, a stamp (€ 0.95, design: Đorđije Radević) dedicated to the 31st Summer Olympic Games, held in Rio de Janeiro from 5 to 21 August 2016.
That stamp (print run: 40,000) was printed in a sheetlet composed of 8 stamps + 1 central label (Rio 2016 games' logo) as well as in a numbered souvenir sheet (print run: 5,000).
The souvenir sheet (No. 1342) was used to frank the letter below sent on December 14, 2017 from Podgorica, the capital.

Inspiré par la célèbre statue du discobole datant de l'Antiquité, ce timbre comporte également l'emblème du comité olympique monténégrin (également présent dans la marge à gauche) ainsi que le logo de ces jeux de Rio 2016.
Indépendant depuis 2006, le Monténégro participe aux jeux olympiques d'été depuis 2008 (Pékin) et l'équipe était composée de 34 athlètes à Rio de Janeiro, engagés dans 7 sports (athlétisme, judo, handball, waterpolo, voile, natation et tennis).
Aucune médaille remportée lors de ces jeux de Rio avec une belle 4ème place dans le tournoi masculin de waterpolo (défaite contre l'Italie dans le match pour la médaille de bronze).
En 2012 à Londres, le pays avait remporté sa 1ère médaille olympique, l'argent dans le tournoi de handball féminin, célébrée par un timbre spécial émis le 28 décembre 2012.

Nouvelle flamme tchèque : médaille olympique suite à disqualification pour dopage...

Le 11 novembre 2017, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation une nouvelle intéressante flamme consacrée au lutteur Marek Švec (né en 1973), multiple médaillé en lutte gréco-romaine (catégorie 96kg) lors des championnats d'Europe et du monde (entre 1998 et 2009).
Marek Švec a également participé 3 fois aux jeux olympiques, en 1996, 2000 et 2008 sans gagner de médailles... jusqu'en 2017 lorsqu'il a récupéré une médaille de bronze aux jeux de Pékin en 2008, suite à la disqualification pour dopage de l'athlète Asset Mambetov (Kazakhstan) !
On November 11, 2017, the Czech Post put into circulation an interesting new pictorial cancellation dedicated to the wrestler Marek Švec (born in 1973), multiple medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling (96kg category) at the European and World championships (between 1998 and 2009).
Marek Švec also participated 3 times in the Olympic Games, in 1996, 2000 and 2008 without winning any medal ... until 2017 when he recovered a bronze medal at the Beijing games in 2008, following the disqualification for doping of the athlete Asset Mambetov, from Kazakhstan!
