Comme je l'ai fait sur le stand de la poste chypriote lors du dernier Salon du Timbre à Paris, j'ai sollicité aussi la poste slovaque pour recevoir un petit souvenir de ce pays :-)
Voici ci-dessous le joli résultat de ma requête !
La poste slovaque proposait alors un entier postal spécifique avec une illustration de la tour Eiffel et le logo du Salon intitulé "Planète Timbre".
Le timbre pré-imprimé à 10 SKK représente une branche de tilleul. La poste slovaque édite des entiers postaux vierges ou illustrés avec ce timbre depuis 2006.
As I did on the stand of the Post of Cyprus in the last Salon du Timbre in Paris, I have also appealed to the Slovak Post to receive a little souvenir from this country :-)

The Slovak Post then proposed a specific postal stationery with a picture of the Eiffel Tower and the logo of this Exhibition entitled "Planète Timbre".
The 10 SKK pre-printed stamp represents a branch of lime-tree. The Slovak Post issues some white or illustrated postal stationeries with this stamp since 2006.
Cette lettre spéciale, après y avoir écrit mon adresse postale, repartait à Bratislava à la fin du Salon pour y être postée vers la France !L'affranchissement n'étant alors pas suffisant, j'ai choisi d'y ajouter le timbre commun avec la France (14 SKK) émis le 5 mai 2003 :-)
Cette émission commune célébrait alors Milan Rastislav Štefánik (1880-1919), politicien, scientifique, général et diplomate slovaque, naturalisé français en 1912.
Après un doctorat en philosophie et astronomie à l'université Charles de Prague, Štefánik arrive à Paris en 1904 pour travailler à l'observatoire de Meudon. C'est cet observatoire qui est représenté à la droite de son portrait sur ce timbre, avec les couleurs des drapeaux français et slovaques au dessus.
A partir de 1908, il accomplira de nombreuses missions diplomatiques pour la France avec succès, ce qui lui vaudra d'être décoré de la Légion d'honneur.
Il sera ensuite nommé général dans l'armée française après avoir été pilote lors de la 1ère guerre mondiale. De retour à Paris en 1915, son combat sera alors de militer pour la création d'un état tchécoslovaque indépendant. Il sera nommé ministre de la défense du 1er gouvernement en 1918. Il mourra l'année suivante lors du crash de son avion lors d'un atterrissage à Bratislava.
En recevant cette lettre, j'ai eu la bonne surprise de découvrir l'oblitération spéciale du Salon avec une illustration de l'Arc de Triomphe à Paris !
Un cachet normal de Bratislava rappelle que cette lettre y a été postée le 24 juin 2008.

This special letter, after having written on it my postal address, returned to Bratislava at the end of the Show in order to be mailed to France !
The postage then was not sufficient, so I chose to add the joint stamp with France (14 SKK) issued on May 5, 2003 :-)
This joint issue then celebrated Milan Rastislav Štefánik (1880-1919), a Slovak politician, scientific, general and diplomat, French naturalized in 1912.
After a doctorate in philosophy and astronomy at the Charles University, Prague, Štefánik arrived in Paris in 1904 to work at the Meudon observatory. This is this observatory which is represented on the right side of his portrait on this stamp, with the colours of French and Slovak flags above.
From 1908, he'll accomplish many diplomatic missions for France with success, which will be worth him to be decorated with the French Legion of Honour.
He'll then be appointed general in the French army after being pilot during WWI. Returning to Paris in 1915, his fight will be to advocate for the creation of an independent Czechoslovak state. He was appointed Minister of Defence in the 1st Government in 1918. He died the following year in the crash of his aircraft during a landing in Bratislava.
By receiving this letter, I had the good surprise to discover the special cancellation of this Stamp Show with an illustration of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris !
A normal postmark from Bratislava reminds that the letter was mailed on June 24, 2008.
