2009 est une année importante en Finlande puisque le pays commémore les 200 ans de la création d'un Grand-Duché autonome sous souveraineté russe. Cette année 1809 marquera le début d'un processus qui mènera la Finlande vers l'indépendance en 1917.
La poste finlandaise a bien sûr commémoré cet anniversaire avec l'émission d'un bloc-feuillet de 4 timbres le 22 janvier 2009. J'en reparlerai certainement dans un prochain message !
Je vais évoquer aujourd'hui d'autres timbres émis depuis début 2009 par la poste de Finlande, grâce à 3 jolis FDC officiels joints à la dernière lettre de Hannele ci-dessous, postée le 17 février 2009 de Jyväskylä.

2009 is a very important year in Finland as the country is commemorating the 200 years of the creation of an autonomous Grand Duchy under Russian sovereignty. This year 1809 will mark the beginning of a process leading Finland to independence in 1917.
Finland Post has of course commemorated this anniversary with the issue of a souvenir sheet of four stamps on January 22 2009. I will certainly speak about in the next post !
I will now evoke some other stamps issued since early 2009 by the Finnish Post, thanks to three beautiful official FDC attached to the last cover below sent to me by Hannele, mailed on February 17 2009 from Jyväskylä.

Hannele a choisi sur cette lettre un très joli bloc-feuillet de 2 timbres, émis le 2 novembre 2007, consacré à des objets précieux en bois. Il s'agit en fait d'une émission commune avec la poste de Hong-Kong, même papier, même imprimeur (Joh. Enschedé) !
Le timbre de droite montre 6 récipients sculptés en 2000 dans du bouleau (Betula pendula) par l'artiste finlandais Markku Kosonen (né en 1945).
L'autre timbre, conçu par Ken Li, représente une chaise datant de la dynastie Qing, sculptée dans du bois de santal rouge (zitan), dont un détail finement réalisé du dossier, inspiré par un kuilong (créature ressemblant à un dragon), figure à droite.
Hannele has chosen on her letter above a beautiful souvenir sheet of two stamps issued on November 2 2007, devoted to fine woodworks. It is actually a joint issue with Hong Kong, China, same paper, same printer (Joh. Enschedé) !
The stamp on the right shows six oval bowls carved in 2000 in curly birch (Betula pendula) by the Finnish artist Markku Kosonen (born in 1945).
The other stamp, designed by Ken Li, depicts a chair dating from the Qing Dynasty, carved in the rare red sandalwood (zitan), with a focus on the finely made back, inspired by a kuilong (a dragon-like creature), on the stamp's right part.

Le 1er FDC joint par Hannele ci-dessus est....très surprenant !
Émis le 22 janvier 2009 (comme les deux ci-dessous), il est composé de 5 timbres autocollants en forme de goutte d'eau, ou plutôt de goutte de bonheur d'après la poste finlandaise :-)
Ce sont en fait des timbres à messages : l'amour (saint-valentin) avec ces 2 cygnes enlacés, cet ours tenant un coeur ou bien ce cupidon avec son arc. Les 2 derniers timbres représentant un gâteau et un groupe d'amis pourraient être utilisés pour un anniversaire...
La créatrice de ce bloc, Janine Rewell, a judicieusement choisi un fond brillant argenté, le rendant encore plus festif ! bien joué !
Ces timbres me rappellent le timbre émis en 2008 par la Lituanie, également en forme de goutte, pour annoncer l'Expo internationale de Saragosse...
The first FDC above joined by Hannele is...very surprising !
Issued on January 22 2009 (as the two others below), it consists in five self-adhesive water drop-shaped stamps, or rather drop of happiness according to the Finnish post :-)
They are in fact some Greetings stamps : love (Valentine's day) with these two swans embracing, this teddy bear hugging a heart or this Cupid shooting an arrow. The last two stamps depicting a cake and a group of friends could be used for a birthday...
The designer of this sheet, Janine Rewell, has wisely chosen a shiny silver background, making it even more festive ! well done !
These stamps remind me another stamp issued in 2008 by Lithuania, also drop-shaped, to announce the International Expo in Zaragoza, Spain...

Le timbre à 0,80€ ci-dessus a été émis pour saluer le travail et le dévouement pour les autres des personnels hospitaliers du pays. Les 2 infirmières, représentées en train de prodiguer des soins, figurent à l'origine sur une photographie des collections du musée de l'hôpital Lazaret de Turku, fondé en 1759. Les bulles de différentes couleurs symbolisent le temps qui passe et le développement des techniques de soins.
J'aime beaucoup l'oblitération "1er jour" en forme de stéthoscope !
The € 0.80 stamp above was issued to salute the great work and dedication of hospital staff in the country. The two nurses represented performing care, are taken from a picture part of collections of the Turku Lazaret hospital Museum, founded in 1759. The different coloured bubbles symbolize the passing of time and the development of care treatments.
I really love the stethoscope-shaped FDC cancellation !

Le timbre ci-dessus est le 1er d'une nouvelle série de la poste finlandaise, émis en fonction des saisons, consacrée aux parcs nationaux du pays.
Celui-ci reproduit un joli paysage montagneux ("tunturi" est le terme finnois désignant ce type de relief arrondi) du parc national de Pallas-Yllästunturi, situé en Laponie, dans le nord-ouest du pays. Ce parc, créé en 2005, est le 3ème plus grand du pays et l'un des plus visité.
Cette série n'est pas prête de se terminer puisque la Finlande compte 35 parcs nationaux couvrant une surface totale de plus de 8000 km² (2,5% du territoire) !
Ce timbre montre la localisation de ce parc sur une carte de la Finlande avec le nom de ce parc écrit en 3 langues : finnois, suédois et same (lapon).
Enfin, la valeur faciale de ce timbre (1 LK/KL) est mentionnée en braille, comme c'est le cas très régulièrement sur les timbres finlandais...cela expliquant peut-être pourquoi la poste finlandaise n'a pas prévu d'émission spécifique cette année en l'honneur de Louis Braille.
The stamp above is the first of a new series of Finland Post, covering different seasons, devoted to the national parks of the country.
This one reproduces a beautiful mountainous landscape ("tunturi" is the Finnish word designating this kind of typical rounded relief) of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park located in Lapland, in northwestern Finland. This Park, created in 2005, is the 3rd largest in the country and one of the most visited.
This series is not ready to be ended because there are 35 national parks in Finland covering a total area of 8000 km² (2.5% of country's total area) !
This stamp depicts the exact location of this park on a map of Finland with its name written in three different languages : Finnish, Swedish and Sami (Lappish).
To conclude, the nominal value of the stamp (1 LK/KL) is mentioned in Braille, as regularly on Finnish stamps... This may explain why Finland Post hasn't scheduled any specific stamp this year devoted to the Louis Braille's bicentennial.
