100 ans du Tour d'Italie en Macédoine

100 years of the Giro d'Italia in Macedonia La 92ème édition du tour d'Italie ("Giro d'Italia") cycliste a eu lieu du 9 au 31 mai 2009 entre Venise et Rome (3456 km). La 1ère édition de ce grand tour a eu lieu en 1909, on a donc commémoré cette année le centenaire de cette épreuve, un des 3 tours incontournables du calendrier cycliste, avec le tour de France et le tour d'Espagne. Les administrations postales de Monaco et d'Italie ont émis un timbre pour commémorer cet anniversaire. La poste de Macédoine en a émis deux, le 2 septembre 2009. Ils figurent sur l'enveloppe ci-dessous, postée le 17 octobre 2009 de Skopje. Merci beaucoup Goran :-) The 92nd edition of the cycling Tour of Italy ("Giro d'Italia") was held from 9 to 31 May 2009 between Venice and Rome (3456 km). The 1st edition of this road bicycle racing stage race took place in 1909, so we celebrate this year the centenary of this sport event, one of the three cycling Grands Tours, with the Tour de France and the Spain's Vuelta. The postal administrations of Monaco and Italy have issued a stamp to commemorate this anniversary. The Post of Macedonia has issued two stamps on September 2, 2009. They are included on the cover below, posted on October 17, 2009 in Skopje. Thank you very much Goran :-) Ces 2 timbres (18 denars chacun) au graphisme très différent évoquent le passé avec un gros plan d'un ancien système de cale-pied et le présent avec ce cycliste sprintant (l'avez-vous reconnu ?) sur fond de drapeau italien. Le tour de France avait célébré son 100ème anniversaire en 2003, sans que la poste macédonienne n'ait émis le moindre timbre commémoratif... Il faut dire que très peu d'administrations postales (sérieuses j'entends) avaient commémoré les 100 ans du tour de France : Saint-Marin et la France bien sûr. Curieusement, Saint-Marin n'a émis aucun timbre cette année consacré au tour d'Italie ?? Rendez-vous en 2010 pour célébrer le 75ème anniversaire du tour d'Espagne ! These two stamps (18 denars each) with very different designs, evoke the past with a closeup on an old toe clip system and the present with this racing cyclist (do you recognize him ?) sprinting in front of an Italian flag. The Tour de France had celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003 without any commemorative stamp issued by the Macedonian Post... I've to say that very few postal administrations (serious I mean) had commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France : San Marino and France of course. Curiously, San Marino hasn't issued any stamp this year devoted to this Tour of Italy ?? See you in 2010 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Tour of Spain !
