La poste libanaise participe depuis 2014 aux émissions de timbres "Euromed Postal" et a mis en circulation, le 9 juillet 2018, un nouveau timbre incluant le logo Euromed Postal (un faucon stylisé), consacré au thème des "Maisons de la Méditerranée" cette année.
Après un motif commun en 2014, les "bateaux de la Méditerranée" en 2015, les "poissons de la Méditerranée" en 2016 et les "arbres de la Méditerranée" en 2017, les administrations postales participantes ont émis cette année des timbres différents consacrés à des types d'habitat caractéristiques du pourtour de la mer Méditerranée.
Pour rappel, ce 9 juillet rappelle la première convention internationale de la poste méditerranéenne signée à Marseille le 9 juillet 2007. Depuis cette date, l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée (PUMed), une union restreinte de l'UPU, a été créée le 11 mars 2011 et comprend actuellement les opérateurs postaux de 18 pays du bassin méditerranéen ainsi que le Portugal et la Mauritanie.
Since 2014, the Lebanese Post has been contributing to the "Euromed Postal" stamp issues and has put into circulation, on July 9, 2018, a new stamp including the Euromed Postal's logo (a stylized hawk), dedicated to the theme of the "Houses in the Mediterranean" this year.
After a common design in 2014, the "boats of the Mediterranean" in 2015, the "fish of the Mediterranean" in 2016 and the "trees in the Mediterranean" in 2017, the participating postal administrations issued this year different stamps dedicated to characteristic habitat types around the Mediterranean Sea.
As a reminder, July 9th evokes the first International Convention of the Mediterranean Post signed in Marseille, France on July 9, 2007. Since that date, the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, was created on March 11, 2011 and currently includes 18 postal operators of Mediterranean countries as well as Portugal and Mauritania.
Un grand merci Joe pour cette jolie lettre envoyée le 28 juillet 2018 depuis la ville de Jbeil, célèbre pour son site antique de Byblos (classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO), affranchie avec ce nouveau timbre Euromed Postal (2250 LBP) à droite.
Ce timbre (tirage : 50000), conçu par Mirna Kalfayan, est consacré au Palais de Beiteddine, construit dans la région du Chouf par l'Émir du Mont-Liban Bachir Chehab II entre 1788 et 1818. Monument historique depuis 1934, cet édifice est devenu la résidence d'été du président de la République après l'indépendance en 1943.
Un important festival artistique (musique, chant, danse) y est organisé depuis 1984.
L'autre timbre ci-dessus (1000 LBP, tirage : 50000), émis le 21 novembre 2012 avec mention "La nation, l'indépendance", rend hommage à Adel Osseiran (1905-1998), homme politique libanais qui a joué un rôle important lors de la crise d'indépendance en 1943. Il a ensuite occupé des postes importants, président du parlement entre 1953 et 1959 et ministre à de nombreuses reprises entre 1969 et 1989.

That stamp (print run: 50,000), designed by Mirna Kalfayan, is dedicated to the Beiteddine Palace, built in the Chouf region by the Emir of Mount Lebanon Bashir Shihab II between 1788 and 1818. A historical monument since 1934, this building is became the summer residence of the President of the Republic after independence in 1943.
An important art festival (music, song, dance) has been organized there since 1984.
The other stamp above (1000 LBP, print run: 50,000), issued on November 21, 2012 with the mention "The Nation, The Independence", pays tribute to Adel Osseiran (1905-1998), a Lebanese politician who played a important role during the independence crisis in 1943. He then held important offices, president of parliament between 1953 and 1959 and minister on many occasions between 1969 and 1989.
