Le 12 septembre 2018 (année 107 localement), la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a mis en circulation une jolie série (4 timbres) consacrée à des peintures modernes, en collaboration avec le Musée national des beaux-arts de Taiwan (situé à Taichung depuis 1988).
Des timbres sur ce thème avaient déjà été émis à Taïwan (en 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009 et 2010) mais cette collaboration avec la principale institution culturelle du pays consacrée à l'art moderne, est une première.
Merci beaucoup George pour ce splendide pli Premier Jour (avec TADs noirs différents de l'oblitération Premier Jour officielle) concernant cette série.
Ce TAD (peintre avec palette et pinceau) a été mis en circulation par un bureau postal temporaire dans le musée postal de Taipei. Le cachet violet au centre évoque une exposition sur l'art organisée du 12 septembre au 21 octobre 2018.
On September 12, 2018 (the year 107 locally), Taiwan's Chunghwa Post put into circulation a beautiful series (4 stamps) devoted to modern paintings, in collaboration with the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (located in Taichung since 1988).
Stamps on this theme had already been issued in Taiwan (in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009 and 2010), but this collaboration with the country's leading cultural institution dedicated to modern art is a first.

This postmark (a painter with palette and brush) was put into circulation by a temporary postal office in the Taipei Postal Museum. The purple cachet in the center evokes an Art exhibition organized from September 12 to October 21, 2018.
Le premier timbre à 8 NT$ (ci-dessus au centre) reproduit une œuvre du peintre Lin Chih-chu (1917-2008) intitulée "Coucher de soleil rouge". Lin Chih-chu adopte ici une approche cubiste pour réinterpréter un paysage de montagne au crépuscule, d'une vitalité exubérante.
L'autre timbre à 8 NT$ représente la peinture "Par la fenêtre" par Liao Te-cheng (1920-2015), un des fondateurs de la "Era Art Association". Cette œuvre est une nature morte avec une composition au premier plan constituée d'élégantes fleurs rouges et blanches dans un vase avec des fruits éparpillés sur une table.
Le timbre en haut à gauche (10 NT$) reproduit une œuvre du peintre Chen Ting-shih (1916-2002) intitulée "Jour et nuit #10", présentant des formes géométriques de trois couleurs - rouge, blanc et noir - dans une composition très équilibrée. Chen Ting-shih est réputé pour ses gravures sur bois et ses sculptures.
Le dernier timbre (10 NT$) représente une peinture intitulée "Work No.057" par Lee Chun-shan (1912-1984), peintre abstrait et théoricien de l'art. Au sein de l'Association de peinture Tong Fang, ce peintre a eu un impact majeur sur le mouvement de la peinture moderne à Taïwan.
The first NT $ 8 stamp (above in the center) reproduces a work by the painter Lin Chih-chu (1917-2008) entitled "Red Sunset". Lin Chih-chu adopts here a Cubist approach to reinterpret a mountain landscape at dusk, displaying an exuberant vitality.
The other NT $ 8 stamp represents the painting "By the Window" by Liao Te-cheng (1920-2015), one of the founders of the "Era Art Association". This work is a still life with a composition in the foreground consisting of elegant red and white flowers in a vase with fruits scattered on a table.
The stamp at the top left (NT $ 10) reproduces a work by the painter Chen Ting-shih (1916-2002), entitled "Day and Night #10", presenting geometric shapes of three colors - red, white and black - in a very balanced composition. Chen Ting-shih is famous for his woodblock prints and sculptures.
The last stamp (NT $ 10) represents a painting entitled "Work No.057" by Lee Chun-shan (1912-1984), abstract painter and art theorist. At the Tong Fang Painting Association, this painter had a major impact on the modern painting movement in Taiwan.
