Le 21 juin 2017, la poste tchèque avait mis en circulation un intéressant timbre (tarif permanent domestique "A" - 19 CZK actuellement) à l'occasion du 130ème anniversaire de la création de la poste pneumatique de Prague ("Pražská potrubní pošta").
Pour rappel, la poste pneumatique (appelée également télégraphe pneumatique parfois) est un système d'acheminement rapide du courrier (plis urgents, télégrammes, lettres et petits paquets...) au moyen de tubes pneumatiques propulsant par différence de pression des navettes cylindriques.
Ces systèmes de postes pneumatiques ont été développés dans plusieurs grandes villes européennes à partir de la deuxième moitié du 19ème siècle (Londres en 1861, Berlin en 1865, Paris en 1866, Vienne en 1875...) avant d'être abandonnés à partir du milieu du 20ème siècle, remplacé par de nouveaux moyens de communication.
On June 21, 2017, the Czech Post had put into circulation an interesting stamp (domestic permanent rate "A" - 19 CZK currently) on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the Prague pneumatic post ("Pražská potrubní pošta").
As a reminder, the pneumatic post (also called pneumatic telegraph sometimes) is a system used to deliver quickly mail (telegrams, letters and small packets...) through pressurized air tubes, inside cylindrical containers.
These pneumatic post systems were developed in several major European cities from the second half of the 19th century (London in 1861, Berlin in 1865, Paris in 1866, Vienna in 1875...) before being abandoned from the middle of the 20th century, replaced by new means of communication.
A noter que ce système pneumatique de Prague (55 km de long) est le dernier encore en activité dans le monde, bien qu'il ait cessé de fonctionner suite aux inondations de 2002...
Le 4 mars 2019, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation (dans le bureau principal de Prague 1) un nouveau TAD spécial consacré au 120ème anniversaire de ce réseau pneumatique postal de Prague.
Cette poste pneumatique à Prague a d'abord fonctionné (à partir de 1889) pour le transport de télégrammes et je suppose que ce TAD fait référence à l'ouverture de cette poste pour le grand public (le 4 mars 1899) et l'ouverture d'un bureau de poste dans la vieille ville de Prague.
C'est ce TAD, conçu par Tomáš Říha, qui a été appliqué sur la lettre ci-dessus. Merci beaucoup Slavek !
La partie à droite de ce TAD représente une partie d'un terminal utilisé pour l'envoi ou la réception de navettes, un exemple de cachet de 1899, appliqué sur les lettres de l'époque, étant présent en haut à gauche.
Slavek a affranchi sa lettre avec ce timbre (en 2 exemplaires) consacré au même thème, avec présence du logo Praga 2018, le nom de l'exposition philatélique internationale organisée à Prague du 15 au 18 août 2018.
It should be noted that this pneumatic system of Prague (55 km long) is the last one still in activity in the world, although it stopped working after the floods of 2002 ...
On March 4, 2019, the Czech Post put into circulation (in the main Prague 1 post office) a new special postmark devoted to the 120th anniversary of this Prague pneumatic postal network.
This pneumatic station in Prague first operated (from 1889) for the transport of telegrams and I suppose this postmark refers to the opening of this post system for the public (on March 4, 1899) and the opening a the Prague Old Town post office.
It is this postmark, designed by Tomáš Říha, which has been applied to the letter above. Thank you very much Slavek!
The right side of this postmark is featuring a part of a terminal used for sending or receiving the cylindrical containers, an example of cachet dating from 1899, applied on the letters of the time, being present at the top left.
Slavek franked his letter with that stamp (in 2 copies) devoted to the same theme, with the presence of the Praga 2018 logo, the name of the international philatelic exhibition organized in Prague from 15 to 18 August 2018.
