Conformément à l'article 31 de la Charte de l'ASEAN, la présidence de l'ASEAN est assurée chaque année par rotation, selon l'ordre alphabétique des noms anglais des états membres.
Un état membre qui assume la présidence préside le sommet de l'ASEAN (organisé le 23 juin 2019 à Bangkok) et les sommets associés, le conseil de coordination de l'ASEAN ou encore les trois conseils de communauté de l'ASEAN.
La Thaïlande préside l'ASEAN en 2019 et le thème de sa présidence est "Faire progresser le partenariat pour le développement durable".
Le 1er juin 2019, la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation un timbre (3 baht) consacré à cette présidence de l'ASEAN.
Un grand merci Thapanaphong pour ce joli pli Premier Jour concernant ce timbre (en 4 exemplaires ici), envoyé depuis le bureau de poste de Sam Sen Nai dans le quartier de Phaya Thai (centre de Bangkok), où est situé le musée philatélique thaïlandais !
According to Article 31 of the ASEAN Charter, the Chairmanship of ASEAN shall rotate annually, based on the alphabetical order of the English names of Member States.
A Member State assuming the Chairmanship shall chair the ASEAN Summit (held on June 23, 2019 in Bangkok) and related summits, the ASEAN Coordinating Council or the three ASEAN Community Councils.
Thailand is the Chair of ASEAN for 2019 and the theme of its ASEAN Chairmanship is "Advancing Partnership for Sustainability".
On June 1, 2019, the Thai Post issued a stamp (3 Baht) about this ASEAN Presidency.
A big thank you Thapanaphong for this nice First Day cover regarding that stamp (in 4 copies here), sent from the post office of Sam Sen Nai in the district of Phaya Thai (center of Bangkok), where is located the Thai Philatelic Museum!
A noter ce TAD additionnel à gauche avec mention de la date sous le format "1. 6. 62", 2019 correspondant à l'année 2562 d'après le calendrier thaï.
Ce timbre, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, représente un bouquet composé des fleurs nationales des 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN (Indonésie, Malaisie, Philippines, Singapour, Thaïlande, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodge) avec un ruban arborant les couleurs du drapeau national thaïlandais.
Curieusement, le TAD Premier Jour représente une fleur d'hibiscus, la fleur nationale de la Malaisie...
Pour rappel, à l'occasion des 50 ans de l'ASEAN, les 10 pays membres ont émis en 2017 des timbres "ASEAN Post" ayant pour thème commun les fleurs nationales.
Le 28 juillet 2018, une nouvelle série courante composée de 12 timbres (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 50 et 100 baht) a été émise, à l'effigie de Rama X, roi de Thaïlande depuis le 1er décembre 2016.
Deux de ces timbres (2 et 3 baht) ont été également utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus.
To note this additional poctmark on the left with mention of the date in the format "1. 6. 62", 2019 corresponding to the year 2562 according to the Thai calendar.
This stamp, printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is featruing a bouquet composed of the national flowers of the 10 ASEAN member countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia) with a ribbon bearing the colors of the Thai national flag.
Curiously, the First Day cancellation represents a hibiscus flower, the national flower of Malaysia ...
As a reminder, on the occasion of the 50 years of ASEAN, the 10 member countries issued in 2017 "ASEAN Post" stamps with national flowers as common theme.
On July 28, 2018, a new definitive series consisting of 12 stamps (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 50 and 100 Baht) was issued, featuring the effigy of Rama X , King of Thailand since December 1, 2016.
Two of these stamps (2 and 3 Baht) were also used on the letter above.
