Depuis 1990, la poste bulgare émet chaque année un ou deux timbres ayant spécifiquement les festivités de Noël ("Koleda") pour thème.
Avant 1990, des timbres étaient mis en circulation en fin d'année mais consacrés aux souhaits de bonne année pour l'année suivante.
Le 22 novembre 2019, la poste bulgare a donc émis un nouveau timbre consacré à Noël, conçu par Damyan Damyanov et représentant une couronne de Noël, composée des mentions "Joyeux Noël" en bulgare et anglais, avec une petit cheval à bascule au centre.
Ce timbre (1,50 leva, tirage : 20000), imprimé en feuille de 40 timbres, figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus envoyé en recommandé depuis Sofia. Merci beaucoup Borislav !
Since 1990, the Bulgarian Post issues each year one or two stamps specifically devoted to the Christmas festivities ("Koleda").
Before 1990, stamps were put into circulation at the end of the year but devoted to the upcoming New Year Wishes.
On November 22, 2019, the Bulgarian Post therefore issued a new stamp dedicated to Christmas, designed by Damyan Damyanov and representing a Christmas wreath, comprising the words "Merry Christmas" in Bulgarian and English, with a small rocking horse in the center.
This stamp (1.50 leva, print run: 20,000), printed in sheet of 40 stamps, is present on the First Day cover above sent by registered mail from Sofia. Thank you very much Borislav!

A noter sur cette lettre la marque "Таxe perçue" en français et la valeur associée (6,20 leva) afin d'atteindre le tarif en vigueur (7,70 leva) pour un envoi prioritaire jusqu'à 20g en recommandé vers la France.
La Bulgarie étant un pays chrétien orthodoxe, la fête de Noël fut célébrée traditionnellement le 7 janvier jusqu'en 1967 lorsque l'église bulgare abandonna le calendrier Julien au profit du calendrier Grégorien.
A l'arrivée des communistes au pouvoir en 1944, les pratiques religieuses (y compris Noël) ont été discréditées et il a fallu attendre 1989 pour le retour de la liberté des pratiques des cultes et des fêtes religieuses. Noël redevint alors une fête très populaire, célébrée le 25 décembre.
Il y a en Bulgarie deux étapes distinctes de la célébration de Noël, le Réveillon de Noël ("Badni Vetcher") et Noël ("Koleda").

Bulgaria being a Christian Orthodox country, Christmas was traditionally celebrated on January 7 until 1967 when the Bulgarian church abandoned the Julian calendar in favor of the Gregorian calendar.
When the Communists came to power in 1944, religious practices (including Christmas) were discredited and it was not until 1989 that the freedom of worship practices and religious festivals were restored. Christmas then became a very popular festival, celebrated on December 25th.
In Bulgaria, there are two distinct stages in the Christmas celebration, Christmas Eve ("Badni Vetcher") and Christmas ("Koleda").
