Le 19 décembre 2019, la poste du Kazakhstan a été la dernière administration postale à mettre en circulation sa série EUROPA, consacrée cette année aux oiseaux nationaux.
Il s'agit d'un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 30000) composé de 3 timbres (500 KZT chacun), conçu par V. Timokhanov, représentant des aigles royaux (Aquila chrysaetos) dans leur habitat naturel.
Ce bloc-feuillet a été imprimé avec un vernis spécial appliqué sur les oiseaux représentés (en vol et dans un nid sur une paroi rocheuse), avec uniquement le mention EUROPA dans la marge an bas à gauche (logo non présent sur les timbres...).
Ce bloc-feuillet a été utilisé pour affranchir la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé le 12 février 2020 depuis la ville de Petropavlovsk (nord du pays). Merci beaucoup Sergey !

On December 19, 2019, the Post of Kazakhstan was the last postal administration to put into circulation its EUROPA series, dedicated this year to national birds.
It is a souvenir sheet (print run: 30,000) composed of 3 stamps (500 KZT each), designed by V. Timokhanov, representing golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) in their natural habitat.
This souvenir sheet has been printed with a special varnish applied to the birds represented (in flight and in a nest on a rock wall), with only the mention EUROPA in the margin at the bottom left (EUROPA logo not present on the stamps...).
This souvenir sheet was used to stamp the pretty letter below sent by registered mail on February 12, 2020 from the city of Petropavlovsk (north of the country). Thank you very much Sergey!

L'aigle royal est considéré comme l'oiseau national du Kazakhstan, figurant sur le drapeau du pays (il semble que ce soit un aigle des steppes...).
Cette espèce de rapace est en effet un symbole important du pays et de sa culture, représentant la force, l'indépendance, la liberté et le "vol" du pays vers l'avenir.
Pendant des siècles, cet oiseau figurait sur les drapeaux des tribus kazakhes et, depuis plus de mille ans, la chasse à l'aigle fait partie de la culture locale. Les chasseurs d'aigle sont appelés "berkutchi", ils capturent des aigles royaux jeunes, souvent dans le nid et les forment pendant plusieurs années.
L'aigle royal se reproduit dans le nord du Kazakhstan, dans l'Altaï, Ustyurt, le désert de Kyzylkum et dans les montagnes du sud et du sud-est du Kazakhstan.
4 sous-espèces (chrysaetos, kamtschatica, homeyeri, daphanea) ont été recensées dans différentes régions du pays.
Cet oiseau a également été choisi sur des timbres EUROPA 2019 émis en Moldavie, Liechtenstein, Suisse, Roumanie et Bosnie-Herzégovine (Pošte Srpske).

For centuries, this bird appeared on the flags of the Kazakh tribes and, for more than a thousand years, eagle hunting has been part of the local culture. Eagle hunters are called "berkutchi", they capture young golden eagles, often in the nest and train them for several years.
Golden eagle mainly breeds in northern Kazakhstan, Altai, Ustyurt, Kyzylkum Desert and in the mountains of southern and southeastern Kazakhstan.
Four subspecies (chrysaetos, kamtschatica, homeyeri, daphanea) have been identified in different regions of the country.
This bird was also chosen to be featured on EUROPA 2019 stamps issued in Moldova, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Pošte Srpske).
