Le 2 avril 2019, la poste de Jersey a mis en circulation une intéressante série (6 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée à la britannique Dame Margot Fonteyn (1919-1991), considérée comme une des grandes danseuses classiques de son époque.
Cette série, conçue par l'illustrateur de mode Christian David Moore et imprimée aux Pays-Bas par Joh. Enschedé Security Print, coïncidait avec le 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de Margot Fonteyn.
Un timbre de cette série (0,80 £) figure sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée en avril 2019 (date non lisible) puisque le slogan à gauche sur cette oblitération mécanique évoque le "Bowel Cancer Awareness Month" ("Mois de sensibilisation au cancer de l'intestin"), organisé chaque année en avril au Royaume-Uni. On April 2, 2019, the Jersey Post put into circulation an interesting series (6 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) dedicated to British Dame Margot Fonteyn (1919-1991), considered as one of the great classical dancers of her time.
This series, designed by fashion illustrator Christian David Moore and printed in the Netherlands by Joh. Enschedé Security Print, coincided with the 100th anniversary of Margot Fonteyn's birth.
A stamp from this series (£ 0.80) was used on the letter below sent in April 2019 (date not readable) since the slogan to the left on this mechanical cancellation evokes the "Bowel Cancer Awareness Month", organized every year in April in the United Kingdom. Thank you very much François!

Les parents de Margot Fonteyn ont vécu plusieurs années à Jersey et elle a dansé à 2 reprises au Jersey Opera House, en 1972 et 1976.
Elle fut déjà à l'honneur à Jersey dans une série émise en 2011 et plusieurs autres administrations postales lui ont également consacré des timbres (Panama, Royaume-Uni, Portugal).

The souvenir sheet represents the dancer in "Swan Lake" (Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky).
Margot Fonteyn, who spent her entire career at the Royal Ballet School in London, is featured in the ballet "Amazon Forest" on the stamp above.
Margot Fonteyn, one of the favorite partners of Rudolf Nureyev, notably in "Romeo and Juliet", was ennobled by Queen Elizabeth II in 1956 and was appointed "Prima Ballerina Assoluta" of the Royal Ballet in 1979, then aged 60.
Margot Fonteyn's parents lived for several years in Jersey and she performed twice at the Jersey Opera House, in 1972 and 1976.
She was already in the spotlight in Jersey in a stamp set issued in 2011 and several other postal administrations also issued stamps dedicated to her (Panama, United Kingdom, Portugal).
