Pour rappel, 51 pays ont fondé l'Organisation des Nations Unies en 1945 suite à la ratification de la Charte des Nations Unies à San Francisco le le 24 octobre 1945.
La République socialiste soviétique (RSS) de Biélorussie était l'une des quinze républiques constituant l'Union soviétique avant sa dissolution en 1991.
Après la 2ème guerre mondiale, la RSS de Biélorussie se vit accorder un siège à l'Assemblée générale des Nations unies conjointement avec l'URSS et la RSS d'Ukraine, devenant ainsi l'un des 51 membres fondateurs. La communauté mondiale reconnaissait ainsi la contribution de la RSS de Biélorussie à la défaite de l'Allemagne nazie.

As a reminder, 51 countries founded the United Nations in 1945 following the ratification of the United Nations Charter in San Francisco on October 24, 1945.
The Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (Byelorussian SSR) was one of the fifteen member republics of the Soviet Union before its dissolution in 1991.
After World War II, the Byelorussian SSR was granted a seat in the United Nations General Assembly together with USSR and the Ukrainian SSR, thus becoming one of the 51 founding members of the United Nations. The world community thus recognized the contribution of the Byelorussian SSR to the defeat of Nazi Germany. 

 

L'administration postale du Belarus a mis en circulation, le 23 octobre 2020, un timbre consacré à ce 75ème anniversaire des Nations Unies.
Ce timbre (tarif 'H' - 1,86 BYN pour une lettre par voie terrestre jusqu'à 20g vers l'étranger, tirage : 24000), conçu par Yelena Medved et imprimé en feuillet de 6 timbres, a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur cette lettre envoyée le 5 novembre 2020 depuis Minsk (nouveau TAD illustré du bureau de poste principal). Merci beaucoup Myron !
Ce timbre représente le siège des Nations Unies à New-York, le drapeau national du Belarus ainsi que le logo officiel de ce 75ème anniversaire des Nations Unies (emblème des Nations Unies, mention "UN75", avec le slogan associé "Façonnons notre avenir ensemble" en anglais).
A noter qu'alors que le pays faisait encore partie de l'URSS, la RSS de Biélorussie a été membre non permanent du Conseil de Sécurité des Nations Unies sur la période 1974-1975. Le Belarus, indépendant depuis 1991, n'a pas encore fait partie de ce Conseil de Sécurité.

On October 23, 2020, the Belarusian postal administration put into circulation a stamp dedicated to this 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

This stamp (rate 'H' - 1.86 BYN : surface tariff of a letter up to 20g abroad, print run: 24,000), designed by Yelena Medved and printed in sheetlet of 6 stamps, has been used in 2 copies on this cover sent on November 5, 2020 from Minsk (new illustrated postmark from the main post office). This stamp represents the United Nations headquarters in New York, the national flag of Belarus as well as the official logo of this 75th anniversary of the United Nations (United Nations emblem, mention "UN75", with the associated slogan "Shaping our future together " in English).

To note that while the country was still part of the USSR, the Byelorussian SSR has been a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council over the period 1974-1975. Belarus, independent since 1991, has not yet been part of this Security Council.
