"Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II" souvenir sheet on FDC from Monaco

Bloc-feuillet "Hommage à la reine Elizabeth II" sur FDC de Monaco

Suite au décès de la reine Elizabeth II le 8 septembre 2022, le prince Albert II de Monaco lui a rendu hommage en soulignant dans un communiqué combien elle avait "représenté l'unité et la dignité du Royaume-Uni" au cours de ses 70 ans de règne.
Son "engagement et son dévouement inébranlables" pendant son règne "ont été une source d'inspiration" et "resteront dans les mémoires", a ajouté le souverain monégasque.
La principauté de Monaco a mis ses drapeaux en berne le 9 septembre 2022 en hommage à Elizabeth II, jusqu'à ses obsèques le 19 septembre 2022, en présence de nombreux chefs d'état, en particulier le prince Albert II et son épouse Charlène.
Le 24 novembre 2022, l'OETP de Monaco a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet afin de rendre hommage à la reine Elizabeth II (1926-2022).
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, Prince Albert II of Monaco paid tribute to her by stressing in a press release how much she had "represented the unity and dignity of the United Kingdom" during her 70 years of reign.
Her "unwavering commitment and dedication" during her reign "were a source of inspiration" and "will be remembered", added the Monegasque sovereign.
The Principality of Monaco lowered its flags on September 9, 2022 in tribute to Elizabeth II, until her funeral on September 19, 2022, in the presence of many heads of state, in particular Prince Albert II and his wife Charlene.
On November 24, 2022, the Stamp issung office of Monaco put into circulation a souvenir sheet to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022).

 

Ce bloc-feuillet (4€, tirage : 35000), conçu à partir d'une photographie représentant le prince Albert II en compagnie de la reine Elizabeth II (Eric Mathon / Palais Princier de Monaco), figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus.
Cette photographie a été prise le 23 mai 2011 à l'occasion du Chelsea Flower Show, une exposition florale majeure organisée chaque année dans le quartier de Chelsea à Londres.
L'Union Jack est représenté dans les marges de ce bloc-feuillet, les mentions "Sa Majesté la Reine Elizabeth II" et "1926-2022" étant imprimées avec une encre argentée spéciale.
A travers cette émission, Monaco rappelle également que la reine Elizabeth II a largement contribué à la reconnaissance de l'exposition MonacoPhil comme événement majeur de la philatélie internationale, en exposant à chaque édition une pièce exceptionnelle issue de ses collections.
La Principauté de Monaco est, sauf erreur, l'un des rares pays non membres du Commonwealth à avoir émis un timbre en hommage à la reine Elizabeth II. 
This souvenir sheet (€4.00, print run: 35,000), based on a photograph representing Prince Albert II in the company of Queen Elizabeth II (Eric Mathon / Prince's Palace of Monaco), is present on the official FDC above.
This photograph was taken on May 23, 2011 on the occasion of the Chelsea Flower Show, a major flower exhibition held each year in the Chelsea district of London.
The Union Jack is featered in the margins of this souvenir sheet, with the words "Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II" and "1926-2022" printed in special silver ink.
Through this issue, Monaco also recalls that Queen Elizabeth II has largely contributed to the recognition of the MonacoPhil stamp exhibition as a major event for international philately, by exhibiting an exceptional piece from her collections at each edition.
The Principality of Monaco is, unless I am mistaken, one of the few non-Commonwealth countries to have issued a stamp in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
