"Ana Aslan (1897-1988)" joint stamps with Armenia, on FDC from Romania

Le 3 avril 2023, les administrations postales de Roumanie et d'Arménie ont mis en circulation une intéressante série commune (2 timbres) consacrée à la médecin roumaine spécialisée en gérontologie Ana Aslan (1897-1988) et son "Elixir de jeunesse" ("Elixirul tinereții").
Celle qui allait devenir une personnalité majeure de la gérontologie roumaine et mondiale est née en 1897 à Brăila, dans une famille d'intellectuels arméniens. Ana Aslan a ensuite vécu à Bucarest jusqu'à l'âge de 91 ans.
Le premier institut de gérontologie et de gériatrie au monde a été fondé à Bucarest en 1952, à l'initiative et sous la direction d'Ana Aslan.
Ana Aslan a créé Gerovital et Aslavital, des médicaments utilisés pour prévenir ou ralentir les changements liés à l'âge. Grâce à ses recherches et ses inventions, Ana Aslan est devenue membre de l'Académie des sciences de New York, membre du conseil d'administration de l'Association internationale de gérontologie, conseillère auprès de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé et membre de l'Académie roumaine.
On April 3, 2023, the postal administrations of Romania and Armenia released an interesting joint series (2 stamps) dedicated to the Romanian doctor specializing in gerontology Ana Aslan (1897-1988) and her "Elixir of Youth" ("Elixirul tinereții").
The one who was to become a major figure in Romanian and world gerontology was born in 1897 in Brăila, in a family of Armenian intellectuals. Ana Aslan then lived in Bucharest until the age of 91.
The first institute of gerontology and geriatrics in the world was founded in Bucharest in 1952, on the initiative and under the direction of Ana Aslan.
Ana Aslan created Gerovital and Aslavital, drugs used to prevent or slow age-related changes. Thanks to her research and inventions, Ana Aslan became a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Gerontology, an advisor to the World Health Organization and a member of the Romanian Academy.

Ana Aslan a reçu de nombreux prix et distinctions internationales, parmi lesquels le Prix "Léon Bernard" décerné par l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé.
Les principales personnalités politiques et artistiques de l'époque ont utilisé les traitements d'Ana Aslan, et l'Institut qui porte actuellement son nom a souvent été qualifié de "perle de la couronne" des hôpitaux roumains.
La version roumaine de cette série commune (conception : Mihail Vămăşescu et David Dovlatyan) a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le Premier Jour d'émission depuis Bucarest. Merci beaucoup Mihnea !
Ces 2 timbres (tirage global : 18250), incluant les drapeaux des 2 pays, ont été imprimés en feuille de 32 timbres ainsi que dans 2 feuillets composés de 5 timbres + 1 vignette.
Le premier timbre (2,90 L) représente un portrait d'Ana Aslan à l'âge adulte ainsi qu'un bouquet symbolique de bourgeons, connus comme les graines du rajeunissement permanent de la nature.
L'autre timbre (11 L) représente le portrait d'Ana Aslan dans sa jeunesse, une œuvre du peintre roumain Jean Alexandru Steriadi (1880-1956), respirant la jeunesse et l'optimisme.
Ana Aslan has received numerous international awards and distinctions, including the "Léon Bernard" Prize awarded by the World Health Organization.
The main political and artistic personalities of the time used Ana Aslan's treatments, and the Institute that currently bears her name has often been called the "Crown Pearl" of Romanian hospitals.
The Romanian version of this joint series (design: Mihail Vămăşescu and David Dovlatyan) was used on this cover sent on the First Day of issue from Bucharest. Thank you very much Mihnea!
These two stamps (total print run: 18,250), including the flags of the two countries, were printed in sheets of 32 stamps as well as in 2 minisheets composed of 5 stamps + 1 label.
The first stamp (2.90 L) features a portrait of Ana Aslan as an adult along with a symbolic bouquet of buds, known as the seeds of nature's permanent rejuvenation.
The other stamp (11 L) shows the portrait of Ana Aslan in her youth, a work by the Romanian painter Jean Alexandru Steriadi (1880-1956), exuding youth and optimism.
