"825th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral of Spoleto" joint stamp with SMOM, on cover from Vatican

Timbre "825 ans de la consécration de la cathédrale de Spolète", commun avec l'OSMM, sur lettre du Vatican

Le 16 mai 2023, les administrations postales de la Cité du Vatican et de l'Ordre Souverain Militaire de Malte (OSMM) ont mis en circulation un timbre commun consacré au 825ème anniversaire de la cérémonie de consécration de la cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Spolète (Ombrie).
Cette cathédrale a en effet été consacrée en 1198 par le pape Innocent III et une année jubilaire (du 16 octobre 2022 au 25 octobre 2023) a été proclamée pour cet anniversaire particulier, qui coïncide avec le cheminement synodal que le pape François a entamé dans les diocèses italiens.
La version vaticane de ce timbre (1,20€, tirage : 40000) conçu par Daniela Longo et imprimé (en France par Cartor) en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 22 mai 2023 depuis la Cité du Vatican. Merci beaucoup Salvatore ! 
On May 16, 2023, the postal administrations of the Vatican City and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) put into circulation a joint stamp dedicated to the 825th anniversary of the consecration ceremony of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Spoleto (Umbria).
This cathedral was indeed consecrated in 1198 by Pope Innocent III and a jubilee year (from October 16, 2022 to October 25, 2023) was proclaimed for this particular anniversary, which coincides with the synodal journey that Pope Francis began in the Italian dioceses.
The Vatican version of this stamp (€1.20, print run: 40,000) designed by Daniela Longo and printed (in France by Cartor) in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, was used on this cover sent on May 22, 2023 from the Vatican City. Thank you very much Salvatore!

A noter cet intéressant TAD comportant la mention "Surrexit Christus Alleluia" en latin ("Christ est ressuscité Alleluia") à l'occasion des Saintes fêtes de Pâques.
Ce timbre montre la façade de la cathédrale incluant la splendide mosaïque de la bénédiction du Rédempteur avec la Vierge Marie et Saint Jean l'Évangéliste de chaque côté.
La partie supérieure du timbre représente la fresque du Couronnement de la Vierge qui orne le demi-dôme de l'abside de la cathédrale, une œuvre faisant partie de la série de fresques "Histoires de la Vierge" réalisée entre 1466 et 1469 par le peintre florentin Fra' Filippo Lippi. 
Menacées au 17ème siècle par le projet du pape Urbain VIII d'allonger le chœur, elles furent sauvées par la volonté des citadins qui ne voulaient pas perdre ces fresques.
La chapelle de l'évêque Eroli est ornée de fresques réalisées par Pinturicchio en 1497.
To note this interesting postmark with the mention "Surrexit Christus Alleluia" in Latin ("Christ is risen Alleluia") on the occasion of Holy Easter.
This stamp shows the facade of the cathedral including the splendid mosaic of the Redeemer blessing with the Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist on either side.
The upper part of the stamp shows the fresco of the Coronation of the Virgin that decorates the semi-dome of the apse of the Cathedral, a work that is part of the fresco series "Stories of the Virgin" realized between 1466 and 1469 by Florentine painter Fra’ Filippo Lippi.
Threatened in the 17th century by the project of Pope Urban VIII to lengthen the choir, they were saved by the will of the townspeople who did not want to lose these frescoes.
The chapel of Bishop Eroli is decorated with frescoes made by Pinturicchio in 1497.
