Carte pré-timbrée "100 ans de la Métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie" de Moldavie
Le 8 mai 2025, en l'année du centenaire du Patriarcat roumain, la Métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie a célébré avec dignité et une joie choisie le 100ème anniversaire de l'élévation de l'archidiocèse de Chişinău au rang de Métropole, par le décret royal n° 1942 du 4 mai 1925, signé par Sa Majesté le roi Ferdinand Ier de Roumanie.
Ce moment historique de référence a été marqué par une cérémonie solennelle organisée à la cathédrale des Saints Apôtres Pierre et Paul, dans la municipalité de Chişinău, en présence des quatre hiérarques de la Métropole de Bessarabie, d'un large conseil de prêtres et de diacres de tous les diocèses, de moines et d'un grand nombre de croyants de tout le pays et de Roumanie.
Le même jour, la poste moldave a mis en circulation une carte pré-timbrée (5 L, tirage : 300, prix de vente : 15 L), conçue par Veronica Coroli, consacrée au 100ème anniversaire de la Métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie ("100 de ani de la fondarea Mitropoliei Basarabiei").
On May 8, 2025, in the centenary year of the Romanian Patriarchate, the Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia celebrated with dignity and chosen joy the 100th anniversary of the elevation of the Archdiocese of Chişinău to the rank of Metropolis, by Royal Decree No. 1942 of May 4, 1925, signed by His Majesty King Ferdinand I of Romania.
This historic moment was marked by a solemn ceremony held at the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, in the municipality of Chişinău, in the presence of the four hierarchs of the Metropolis of Bessarabia, a large council of priests and deacons from all dioceses, monks, and a large number of believers from across the country and Romania.
On the same day, the Post of Moldova put into circulation a prepaid card (5 L, print run: 300, retail price: 15 L), designed by Veronica Coroli, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia ("100 de ani de la fondarea Mitropoliei Basarabiei").

Le timbre pré-imprimé représente l'emblème de cette Métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie.
La métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie est une Église orthodoxe autonome liée canoniquement au Patriarcat de Roumanie. Le chef de l'Église porte le titre d'archevêque de Chișinău, métropolite de Bessarabie, et Exarque, avec résidence à Chișinău (titulaire actuel : Petru Păduraru, né en 1946).
Cette métropole a cessé son activité durant l'occupation soviétique de la Bessarabie (1940-1941) et durant le régime communiste en Moldavie soviétique (1944-1991) qui rétablit l'obédience du patriarcat de Moscou. Réactivée en 1992, la métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie ne sera reconnue officiellement par les autorités pro-russes qu'en 2002.
Une large partie (environ 90%) de la population moldave se déclare de confession chrétienne orthodoxe.

The pre-printed stamp depicts the emblem of this Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia.
The Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia is an autonomous Orthodox Church canonically linked to the Romanian Patriarchate. The head of the Church holds the title of Archbishop of Chișinău, Metropolitan of Bessarabia, and Exarch, with residence in Chișinău (current titular: Petru Păduraru, born in 1946).
This metropolis ceased its activity during the Soviet occupation of Bessarabia (1940-1941) and during the communist regime in Soviet Moldova (1944-1991), which restored the obedience of the Moscow Patriarchate. Reactivated in 1992, the Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia was not officially recognized by the pro-Russian authorities until 2002.
A large portion (approximately 90%) of the Moldovan population identifies as Orthodox Christians.

Maria Cebotari (1910-1949)
était une célèbre soprano roumaine, née à Chișinău (Bessarabie à
l'époque), qui a chanté dans les plus grands opéras - Vienne, Salzbourg,
Berlin - en particulier des œuvres de Strauss, avant de mourir (d'un
cancer) en pleine gloire à 39 ans.
L'autre côté de cette carte ci-dessus montre le siège de cette Métropole orthodoxe de Bessarabie à Chișinău.

Maria Cebotari (1910-1949) was
a famous Romanian soprano, born in Chișinău (Bessarabia at the time),
who sang in the greatest opera houses - Vienna, Salzburg, Berlin - in
particular Strauss' works, before dying (of cancer) in full glory at the
age of 39.
