Série "Aéroports - 50 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec les Philippines, sur FDC du Maroc
Les relations diplomatiques entre le Maroc et les Philippines ont été officiellement établies le 27 décembre 1975. Le Maroc dispose d'une ambassade à Manille et les Philippines d'une ambassade à Rabat.
A noter que cette ambassade des Philippines à Rabat a été fermée à partir de mars 1986, après l'entrée en fonction de la présidente Corazon Aquino, au lendemain de la Révolution populaire et le renversement du régime de Ferdinand Marcos dont la famille était proches du roi Hassan II et détenait des passeports marocains...
Les relations entre les 2 pays se sont ensuite apaisées et des coopérations ont été mises en place dans divers domaines (économie, éducation, tourisme...).
A noter également la présence d'une communauté philippine au Maroc, estimée à 4300 personnes, soit la plus importante du continent africain.
A l'occasion du 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation, le 28 avril 2025 (Philippines) et le 30 mai 2025 (Maroc), une intéressante série commune (2 timbres) consacrée à l'architecture aéroportuaire emblématique de chaque pays.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of these diplomatic relations, the postal administrations of the two countries put into circulation, on April 28, 2025 (Philippines) and May 30, 2025 (Morocco), an interesting joint series (2 stamps) dedicated to the emblematic airport architecture of each country.

J'aime beaucoup le logo officiel de ce 50ème anniversaire, présent sur l'enveloppe, mêlant le lion de l'Atlas (éteint à l'état sauvage) et le pithécophage des Philippines, une espèce de rapace endémique, symbole du pays, en danger critique d'extinction.
Le timbre à gauche (4,10 MAD) met en valeur le magnifique style architectural du Terminal 2 de l'aéroport international de Mactan-Cebu. Il se caractérise par une structure de toit unique en forme de vague, inspirée des "bangka" (pirogues) traditionnelles philippines, soutenue par de grandes arches en bois lamellé-collé.
Cet aéroport se trouve à 600 kilomètres au sud de l'aéroport international Ninoy Aquino de Manille et sert de hub central dans le réseau de transport aérien des Philippines. Son attractivité tient dans son emplacement privilégié, situé à seulement 3 ou 4 heures de vol de 14 villes d'Asie-Pacifique.
L'autre timbre (9,80 MAD) est consacré à l'aéroport international de Marrakech-Ménara, mettant en valeur son architecture alliant design moderne et éléments traditionnels marocains, tels que des arabesques islamiques et un haut toit élancé.
Il s'agit du deuxième plus important aéroport marocain après l'aéroport Mohammed-V de Casablanca, avec environ 5 millions de passagers chaque année.

I really love the official logo created for this 50th anniversary, featured on the envelope, combining the Atlas lion (extinct in the wild) and the Philippine eagle, an endemic raptor species, symbol of the country, and critically endangered.
The stamp on the left (MAD 4.10) showcases the magnificent architectural style of Terminal 2 of Mactan-Cebu International Airport. It features a unique wave-shaped roof structure, inspired by traditional Filipino "bangka" (canoes), supported by large glulam wood arches.
This airport is located 600 kilometers south of Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport and serves as a central hub in the Philippine air transport network. Its appeal lies in its prime location, just a 3-4 hour flight from 14 Asia-Pacific cities.
The other stamp (MAD 9.80) is dedicated to Marrakech-Menara International Airport, showcasing its architecture, which combines modern design with traditional Moroccan elements, such as Islamic arabesques and a high, sweeping roof.
It is the second largest Moroccan airport after Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport, handling approximately 5 million passengers annually.
