"Games of the Small States of Europe 2025" stamps on cover from Andorra (Spanish Post)

Timbres "Jeux des petits États d'Europe 2025" sur lettre d'Andorre (poste espagnole) 

Du 26 au 31 mai 2025, la Principauté d'Andorre accueillait la 20ème édition des Jeux des petits États d'Europe (JPEE), une compétition multisports organisée tous les 2 ans, réunissant des athlètes des 9 pays d'Europe de moins d'un million d'habitants : Andorre, Chypre, Islande, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malte, Monaco, Monténégro et Saint-Marin.
A noter qu'Andorre devait initialement organiser cette compétition en 2021, annulée à cause de la pandémie mondiale de Covid-19.
Depuis la 1ère édition des Jeux des petits États d'Europe en 1985 (Saint-Marin), Andorre avait déjà organisé cette compétition en 1991 et 2005.
Plus de 1000 athlètes ont participé à ces jeux, engagés dans 12 disciplines sportives (athlétisme, judo, natation, tennis, tennis de table, tir, basket-ball, cyclisme, volley-ball, karaté, rugby à 7, gymnastique) avec des compétitions ayant lieu dans les 7 paroisses de la Principauté d'Andorre. 
From May 26 to 31, 2025, the Principality of Andorra hosted the 20th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE), a multi-sport competition held every two years, bringing together athletes from nine European countries with populations under one million: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, and San Marino.
To note that Andorra was initially scheduled to host this competition in 2021, but it was canceled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the first edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe in 1985 (San Marino), Andorra has already hosted this competition in 1991 and 2005.
More than 1,000 athletes participated in these games, competing in 12 sport events (athletics, judo, swimming, tennis, table tennis, shooting, basketball, cycling, volleyball, karate, rugby 7s, gymnastics), with competitions taking place in the seven parishes of the Principality of Andorra.

Le 26 mai 2025, la poste espagnole en Andorre a mis en circulation un timbre (1€, tirage : 45000) consacré à ces Jeux des petits États d'Europe ("Jocs dels Petits Estats d'Europa" en catalan).
Ce timbre a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 11 août 2025 depuis la capitale, Andorra la Vella.
Le TAD illustré représente en particulier l'église romane Sant Esteve (12ème siècle) et le centre thermoludique Caldea (1994, paroisse d'Escaldes-Engordany).
Le logo officiel de ces jeux (un athlète stylisé levant les bras, avec couleurs du drapeau andorran) figure sur ce timbre, représentant également un athlètes stylisé (basket-ball ou basket-ball 3x3 ?).
A noter que la poste française en Andorre a également mis en circulation, le 29 mai 2025, un bloc-feuillet (2 timbres) concernant cette même compétition.
Chypre (108 médailles dont 36 en or) a dominé cette compétition, devant le Luxembourg et l'Islande, Andorre terminant à la 6ème place avec 38 médailles (dont 13 en or).
La prochaine édition de ces Jeux des petits États d'Europe aura lieu en 2027 à Monaco. 
On May 26, 2025, the Spanish Post in Andorra issued a stamp (€1.00, print run: 45,000) dedicated to these Games of the Small States of Europe ("Jocs dels Petits Estats d'Europa" in Catalan).
Two copies of this stamp have been used on the above cover sent on August 11, 2025, from the capital, Andorra la Vella.
The illustrated postmark represents in particular the Romanesque church of Sant Esteve (12th century) and the Caldea spa resort (1994, parish of Escaldes-Engordany).
The official logo of these games (a stylized athlete raising his arms, in the colors of the Andorran flag) is reproduced on this stamp, which also depicts a stylized athlete (basketball or basketball 3x3?).
To note that the French Post in Andorra also put into circulation, on May 29, 2025, a souvenir sheet (2 stamps) devoted to this same competition. 
Cyprus (108 medals, including 36 gold) dominated this competition, ahead of Luxembourg and Iceland, with Andorra finishing in 6th place with 38 medals (including 13 gold).
The next edition of these Games of the Small States of Europe will take place in 2027 in Monaco.
