Nouvel hommage à la poste italienne

A new tribute to the Italian Post

Comme dans un message précédent publié en janvier 2008, je souhaitais à nouveau rendre hommage à la poste italienne qui, encore une fois, a pris la peine d'affranchir la lettre recommandée ci-dessous (suite à une commande de timbres) avec...des timbres !
Incroyable, une administration postale qui utilise de vrais timbres sur ses courriers !!
Bon d'accord, personne n'est parfait, l'application de 4 cachets postaux (avec une évocation du château Saint-Ange à Rome) semble un peu exagérée...
As in a previous post published in January 2008, I'd like to pay tribute to the Italian Post that, once again, took the trouble to frank the registered letter below (following an order of stamps) with...stamps !
Incredible, a postal administration using real stamps on its covers !!
Okay, nobody is perfect, the application of four postmarks (with an evocation of the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome) seems a bit exaggerated...

Les 3 timbres identiques à 1,50€ ci-dessus ont été émis le 12 octobre 2007 pour commémorer les 250 ans de la naissance du sculpteur italien Antonio Canova (1757-1822).
La poste italienne a curieusement choisi une sculpture en marbre conservée au Louvre, à Paris. Mais cette oeuvre intitulée "Psyché ranimée par le baiser de l'Amour", sculptée entre 1787 et 1793, a permis à Antonio Canova d'imposer alors son talent dans toute l'Europe.
Canova est célèbre en France pour avoir réalisé de nombreux portraits sculptés de membres de la famille de Napoléon.
Ce timbre splendide a été gravé en taille-douce par l'artiste italien Antonio Ciaburro.
Son timbre représentant le pont Rialto de Venise, émis également en 2007, a été désigné, parmi 10 pays participants, meilleur timbre gravé de l'Union Européenne, dans le cadre des Grands Prix de l'Art Philatélique à Bruxelles.
A noter que le diptyque français consacré à Charcot, gravé par Martin Mörck, est arrivé en 2ème position.
Antonio Ciaburro avait déjà permis à l'Italie de remporter ce Prix grâce à son timbre émis en 2006 consacré aux 50 ans de la cour constitutionnelle italienne. Quel talent !
The three identical € 1.50 stamps above have been issued on October 12 2007 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova (1757-1822).
The Italian Post has curiously chosen a marble sculpture kept in the Louvre Museum, in Paris. But this work entitled "Psyche revived by Cupid's kiss", carved between 1787 and 1793, allowed Antonio Canova then to impose his talent across all Europe.
Canova is famous in France for having produced many carved portraits of family members of Napoleon.
This beautiful stamp was engraved (intaglio) by the Italian artist Antonio Ciaburro.
His stamp showing the Rialto bridge in Venice, issued also in 2007, was awarded, among 10 participating countries, as the "best engraved stamp of the European Union", as part of the "Grands Prix of Philatelic Art" in Brussels.
Note that the French diptych devoted to Charcot, engraved by Martin Mörck, came in 2nd place. Antonio Ciaburro had allowed Italy to already win this Award with his stamp issued in 2006 devoted to the 50 years of the Italian Constitutional Court. Congratulations !
