Le 1er juillet 1997, Hong Kong fut rétrocédé par le Royaume-Uni à la Chine, devenant une des 2 régions administratives spéciales (RAS) de la république populaire de Chine, l'autre étant Macao.
Comme Macao, Hong Kong bénéficie d'une certaine autonomie avec son propre système politique, législatif, économique... répondant au principe "un pays, deux systèmes".
Hong Kong est par exemple représenté aux jeux olympiques de Londres avec sa propre délégation, distincte de celle de la Chine.
15 ans jour pour jour après, la poste de Hong Kong a commémoré cet événement historique en émettant, le 1er juillet 2012, l'intéressant bloc-feuillet ci-dessous.

Un grand merci Kun pour ce splendide FDC officiel ci-dessus concernant ce bloc-feuillet composé de 3 timbres (5$ chacun), incluant une inscription dorée (15ème anniversaire de la création de la RAS de Hong Kong) dans la marge en haut à gauche :-)
Ce bloc, imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing, a été conçu par Freeman Lau à partir d'une représentation de la fleur nationale de Hong Kong, Bauhinia blakeana, qui figure sur le drapeau et les pièces de monnaie...
Les marges de ce bloc ainsi que les 3 timbres évoquent l'économie prospère de Hong Kong ainsi que certains des monuments symboliques comme l'aéroport international (en bas à droite), les installations portuaires (en haut à droite), la tour du Two International Finance Center (416 mètres, le 2ème building le plus haut de Hong Kong) en bas à gauche, la place du Bauhinia doré où ont lieu les cérémonies quotidiennes de levée des couleurs (en haut à gauche) ou la statue de la déesse de la justice située sur l'ancien bâtiment de la Cour suprême, siège actuel du conseil législatif (en haut au centre).

This sheet, printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, was designed by Freeman Lau from a representation of the national flower of Hong Kong, Bauhinia blakeana, which appears on the HK flag and coins...
The margins of this block as well as the three stamps evoke the booming economy of Hong Kong and some of the major landmarks such as the International Airport (bottom right), port activities (top right), the tower of the Two International Finance Center (416 meters, the second highest building in Hong Kong) in the lower left, Golden Bauhinia Square where the flag raising ceremonies are held daily (top left) and the statue of the goddess of justice located on the former building of the Supreme Court, current seat of the Legislative Council (top center).

I wanted finally to share with you the other side of this FDC above because it includes a message by the new Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Leung Chun-ying, who took office on July 1, 2012, the first day of issue of this stamp series !
