Le 31 juillet 2012, l'athlète slovène Urška Žolnir remportait la médaille d'or en judo (63 kg) lors des derniers jeux olympiques de Londres.
Comme elle l'avait fait en 2008 pour la médaille d'or de Primož Kozmus, la poste slovène a émis, le 28 septembre 2012, un timbre spécial consacré à Urška Žolnir.
Ce timbre (0,92€) fait partie du joli affranchissement de la lettre recommandée ci-dessous postée le 30 janvier 2013 de Ljubljana. Merci beaucoup Petra :-)
La délégation slovène à Londres, composée de 65 athlètes (28 hommes et 37 femmes) engagés dans 15 sports, a remporté 4 médailles (1 or, 1 argent, 2 bronze) en judo, athlétisme, aviron et tir.
A noter que les 4 médaillés olympiques de 2012 avaient déjà remporté au moins une médaille olympique lors de jeux précédents !
On July 31, 2012, the Slovenian athlete Urška Žolnir won the gold medal in judo (63 kg) during the last Olympic Games in London.
As it was the case in 2008 for the gold medal won by Primož Kozmus, the Slovenian Post has issued on September 28th 2012, a special stamp devoted to Urška Žolnir.
That stamp (€ 0.92) is part of the beautiful postage of the registered cover below mailed on January 30, 2013 from Ljubljana. Thank you very much Petra :-)

Le timbre à 0,58€, émis le 23 novembre 2012, commémore le 80ème anniversaire de la 1ère projection (le 9 décembre 1932 à Ljubljana) du film muet "Les pentes du Triglav" ("Triglavske strmine"), le 2ème film slovène de l'histoire, racontant l'histoire d'alpinistes partis à l'assaut du Triglav, le point culminant (2864 m) et symbole national de la Slovénie. Anton Cerar, le principal acteur slovène de l'époque, était le héros de ce film.
Le dernier timbre (1,33€) ci-dessus, émis le 28 septembre 2012 sous la forme d'un bloc-feuillet, est consacré aux championnats du monde d'échecs de la jeunesse qui avaient lieu pour la 1ère fois en Slovénie, dans la ville de Maribor (du 7 au 19 novembre 2012). Ce timbre, conçu par Edi Berk, représente une pièce du jeu d'échecs (le cavalier) avec dans le fond, le vieux pont (Stari most) construit sur la Drava à partir de 1913.
Ce championnat, organisé chaque année, est ouvert aux garçons et aux filles de moins de 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 et 8 ans. Près de 9000 parties ont été organisées, impliquant 1584 joueurs venant de 92 pays différents. J'aime bien ce bloc avec également les autres pièces du jeu dans la marge supérieure.
A noter enfin que Maribor était à l'honneur en 2012 puisqu'elle avait été désignée capitale européenne de la culture...
The € 0.58 stamp, issued on November 23, 2012, commemorates the 80th anniversary of the first screening (on December 9th 1932 in Ljubljana) of the silent film "The Slopes of Triglav" ("Triglavske strmine"), the second ever Slovenian film, telling the story of climbers in their longing for unconquered rock faces of the Triglav, the highest point (2864 m) and national symbol of Slovenia. Anton Cerar, the main Slovenian actor of the time, was the hero of this film.
The last stamp (€ 1.33) above, issued on September 28th 2012 in a souvenir sheet, is devoted to the World Youth Chess Championship that took place for the first time in Slovenia, in the city of Maribor (from 7 to 19 November 2012). That stamp, designed by Edi Berk, features a chess piece (knight) with the Old Bridge (Stari most), built on the Drava river from 1913, in the background.
This championship, held annually, is a competition for girls and boys under the age of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. Nearly 9000 games were played, involving 1584 players coming from 92 different countries.
I rather like this sheet including also the other chess pieces in the top margin.
Finally, to note that Maribor was in the spotlight in 2012 as it had been also designated European Capital of Culture...
