La poste marocaine ("Barid Al Maghrib") nous avait déjà habitué dans le passé à des émissions de timbres faisant appel à des technologies originales et innovantes : timbres parfumés, timbres incluant des graines (luzerne), timbres avec gaufrage ou dorure, timbres incluant des particules de sable du Sahara marocain ou timbres intégrant une technologie audio (100 ans de l'émission du 1er timbre marocain en 2012)...
Après avoir recouru à l'imagerie lenticulaire en 2009 pour le 10ème anniversaire de l'intronisation du roi Mohamed VI, la poste marocaine a cette fois émis, le 21 août 2013, un bloc-feuillet spécial en soie consacré au 50ème anniversaire de la naissance du souverain marocain...

Le roi Mohamed VI est en effet né le 21 août 1963 dans la capitale marocaine, Rabat, et est devenu roi le 23 juillet 1999 après la mort de son père, le roi Hassan II.
Mohamed VI est le 3ème roi du Maroc et le 22ème monarque de la dynastie alaouite qui règne sur le pays depuis la 2ème moitié du 17ème siècle.
C'est ce bloc spécial, composé de 2 timbres (8,40 dirhams chacun), qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 21 novembre 2013 de Rabat. Merci beaucoup Meriem :-)
Pour une raison que j'ignore, la poste marocaine a refusé d'oblitérer ce bloc et Meriem a été obligée d'envoyer cette lettre à l'intérieur d'une autre enveloppe...
Ce bloc (tirage : 20000) a été imprimé en France (par Cartor Security Printing) sur du papier gommé composé de soie naturelle!
Les 2 timbres, représentant le roi en tenue traditionnelle et en costume occidental, reprennent les visuels de timbres courants émis depuis 2001.
A noter enfin la présence des armoiries du pays dans la marge centrale, incluant une couronne royale, 2 lions, une partie du drapeau marocain, les montagnes de l'Atlas et un soleil levant.
King Mohamed VI is indeed born on August 21, 1963 in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, and became King on July 23, 1999 after the death of his father, King Hassan II.
Mohamed VI is the third King of Morocco and the 22nd monarch of the Alawite dynasty that ruled the country since the second half of the 17th century.
It is that special m/s, consisting of two stamps (8.40 Dirhams each), that was used on the cover above sent on November 21, 2013 from Rabat. Thank you very much Meriem :-)
I don't really know why but the Moroccan Post refused to cancel this sheet and Meriem was forced to send this letter inside another envelope...
This sheet (print run : 20,000 ) was printed in France (by Cartor Security Printing) on a gummed paper made from natural silk !
The two stamps, depicting the King in traditional dress and in western dress, have been designed from definitive stamps issued in the country since 2001.
It is worth noting the presence of the country's coat of arms on the central margin, including a royal crown, two lions, a part of the Moroccan flag, the Atlas Mountains as well as a rising sun.
