La République Tchèque a été un des 189 pays à participer à l'exposition internationale de Shanghai organisée de mai à octobre 2010, dont le thème était "Meilleure Ville, Meilleure Vie".
A ce titre, le pays a conçu et construit un pavillon sur un terrain de 2000 m2, dont les murs extérieurs blancs étaient recouverts de 63415 palets de hockey en caoutchouc noir (symbolisant à la fois les exportations tchèques et ce sport très populaire dans le pays), le tout constituant une carte de la vieille ville de Prague !
La poste tchèque a commémoré la participation du pays à cette Expo en émettant, le 10 février 2010, un intéressant bloc-feuillet composé d'un timbre à 35 Kč. C'est ce bloc qui figure à droite sur la jolie lettre recommandée ci-dessous envoyée le 17 août 2016 de Prague. Merci beaucoup Bret !
Czech Republic was one of the 189 countries to participate at the World Expo held in Shanghai from May to October 2010, with the theme "Better City, Better Life".
The country has designed and built a pavilion on an area of 2000 m2, whose outer white walls were covered with 63,415 black rubber hockey pucks (symbolizing both Czech exports and this very popular sport in the country), the whole constituting a map of Prague old town !
The Czech Post commemorated the country's participation at this Expo by issuing, on February 10, 2010, an interesting souvenir sheet consisting of a 35 Kč stamp. It is that sheet which appears to the right on the nice registered letter below, sent on August 17, 2016 from Prague. Thank you very much Bret !
L'autre timbre en haut à gauche (35 Kč) fait partie de la série "Oeuvres d'art sur timbres-poste" émise le 27 novembre 2013, consacré à une oeuvre du peintre et graveur tchèque Max Švabinský (1873-1962) intitulée "Portrait rond" (1897, galerie nationale de Prague).
Considéré comme un des artistes les plus importants du 20ème siècle en Tchécoslovaquie, Max Švabinský a également, avec d'autres artistes comme Jan Preisler, Antonín Slavíček ou Miloš Jiránek, participé à la diffusion de l'art moderne tchécoslovaque en Europe.
The other stamp in the upper left (35 Kč) is part of the series "Works of Art on Postage Stamps" issued on November 27, 2013, devoted to a work of Czech painter and engraver Max Švabinský (1873-1962) entitled "Round Portrait" (1897, National Gallery in Prague).
Considered as one of the most important artists of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia, Max Švabinský has also, with other artists such as Jan Preisler, Antonín Slavíček or Miloš Jiránek, participated in the dissemination of Czechoslovak modern art in Europe.
Bret m'a également envoyé le feuillet numéroté ci-dessus (tirage : 1700, numéroté entre 0144301 et 0146000), avec TAD spécial conçu par Petr Ptáček) émis le 13 juillet 2016 à l'occasion du 80ème anniversaire de la mise en service du train express "Slovenská strela".
Le timbre (27 Kč) fait partie de la série "moyens de transport historiques" émise le 17 février 2016, représentant cette même voiture ferroviaire, fabriquée en 1936 par la compagnie Tatra, exposée aujourd'hui au musée technique Tatra situé dans la ville tchèque de Kopřivnice (est du pays) où le TAD ci-dessus a été mis en circulation.
Bret also sent me the numbered commemorative sheet above (print run : 1700, numbered between 0144301 and 0146000), with a special postmark designed by Petr Ptáček) issued on July 13, 2016 to mark the 80th anniversary of the commissioning of express train "Slovenská strela".
The stamp (27 Kč) is part of the series "historical means of transport" issued on February 17, 2016, featuring that same railway car, manufactured in 1936 by the Tatra company, today exhibited at the Technical museum of Tatra located in the Czech town of Kopřivnice (east of the country) where the cancellation above was put into circulation.
J'ai eu également la chance de recevoir le 2ème feuillet commémoratif ci-dessus en avant-première, avec TAD du bureau de poste de Prague 1 du 15 septembre 2016 (conception : Marina Richterová) consacré au 80ème anniversaire de la naissance du célèbre graveur tchèque Miloš Ondráček.
Sur ce feuillet (tirage : 1700, numéroté entre 0146001 et 0147700), le timbre utilisé (54 Kč), conçu par Jan Kavan et partiellement gravé par Miloš Ondráček, fait partie du bloc-feuillet émis le 4 mai 2016, consacré au 700ème anniversaire de la naissance de Charles IV (1316-1378), roi de Bohême et empereur du Saint-Empire romain-germanique.
A noter ces feuilles de tilleul et cette mention en latin "Artifex Cælator Splendidus" ("Un artiste gravant magnifiquement" ?) sur ce TAD.
I was also lucky enough to receive the second commemorative sheet above in preview, with a special cancellation from the post office of Prague 1 of September 15, 2016 (design : Marina Richterová) dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the famous Czech engraver Miloš Ondráček.
On this sheet (print run : 1700, numbered between 0146001 and 0147700), the stamp used (54 Kč), designed by Jan Kavan and partially engraved by Miloš Ondráček, is part of the souvenir sheet issued on May 4, 2016, devoted to the 700th anniversary of the birth of Charles IV (1316-1378), King of Bohemia and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
To note these lime leaves and the words in Latin "Artifex Cælator Splendidus" ("An artist engraving beautifully" ?) on this cancellation.

La gravure (auteur : Václav Fajt) concerne le timbre (30 Kč) émis le 16 décembre 2015 dans la série "Oeuvres d'art sur timbres-poste", consacré à une oeuvre ("La séance", 1957 - Galerie des beaux-arts d'Ostrava) du peintre tchèque Bohumír Matal (1922-1988).

The engraving (author : Václav Fajt) relates to the stamp (30 Kč) issued on December 16, 2015 in the series "Works of Art on Postage Stamps", devoted to a work ("The sitting" 1957 - Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava) by Czech painter Bohumír Matal (1922-1988).
