Dans la tradition populaire roumaine et moldave, le calendrier a ses propres noms pour les mois, qui apparaissent dans certains contextes, par exemple sur les calendriers ecclésiastiques produits par l'Église orthodoxe.
Tous ces noms de mois sont d'origine latine, ce qui indique que leur utilisation est antérieure au contact slave (vers le 8ème siècle), 6 ont leurs noms dérivés des caractéristiques des mois, 5 sont dérivés des noms latins maintenant utilisés dans le calendrier grégorien (cependant, chacun d'eux a une étymologie folklorique et une signification supplémentaire) et 1 (décembre) tire son nom de celui de Saint Andrew.
La poste moldave avait déjà émis un 1er bloc-feuillet (3 timbres) le 5 janvier 2017 faisant partie de cette série intitulée "Mois de l'année dans la tradition populaire" ("Lunile anului în tradiția populară"), consacré en particulier aux mois de janvier ("Gerar"), février ("Făurar") et mars ("Mărțișor").

Le 13 avril 2018, un 2ème bloc-feuillet similaire (tirage : 55000, conception : Lilian Iațco), également composé de 3 timbre (5,75 L chacun) et 1 vignette, a été mis en circulation dans cette même série, avec un focus cette fois sur les mois d'avril, mai et juin.

Le mois d'avril (''Prier'') est rattaché à l'étymologie populaire "prii" signifiant "avoir un bon présage" car il est considéré comme un mois propice pour poursuivre les travaux agricoles commencés en mars, et pour former des troupeaux de moutons.
Le mois de mai ("Florar'' ou "Frunzar") est le mois des herbes. Dans la tradition, on croit que le ciel descend sur la terre, les prairies sont vertes et pleines de fleurs multicolores, et le feuillage des forêts et des vergers prospèrent sous le vent...
Le mois de juin ("Cireșar") est le mois des cerisiers avec des fruits qui arrivent à maturité à cette période.
On April 13, 2018, a similar 2nd souvenir sheet (print run: 55,000, design: Lilian Iaţco), also composed of 3 stamps (L 5.75 each) and 1 label, was put into circulation in this same series, with a focus this time on the months of April, May and June.

Dans le cadre de cette émission, la poste moldave a également mis en circulation 3 jolies cartes postales (tirage : 500 chacune) reproduisant les illustrations originales de Lilian Iațco.
Par exemple l'exemplaire ci-dessus (n°21/2018), une carte maximum ici, consacré au timbre évoquant le mois d'avril.
Je suppose que cette série va continuer ces prochaines années avec en particulier les 3 mois suivants, juillet ("Cuptor"), août ("Gustar") et septembre ("Răpciune")...
