A l'occasion de la 8ème édition de l'exposition philatélique internationale "Birdpex 2018" (organisée tous les 4 ans) consacrée à la thématique des oiseaux, organisée dans le cadre du 60ème Salon philatélique thématique international "EXPHIMO 2018" à Mondorf-les-Bains (Luxembourg) du 19 au 21 mai 2018, la poste luxembourgeoise a mis en circulation, le 15 mai 2018, une très jolie série (3 timbres) consacrée à différentes espèces d'oiseaux rares du pays.
Cette série, qui va se poursuivre en 2019 et 2020, a été conçue en collaboration avec "natur&ëmwelt" (12000 membres), une association qui œuvre pour la sauvegarde de la biodiversité dans un paysage naturel et culturel varié à travers le Luxembourg.
Cette série figure sur le pli spécial ci-dessous, envoyé le 14 juin 2018 depuis la ville de Luxembourg.
On the occasion of the 8th edition of the international philatelic exhibition "Birdpex 2018" (organized every 4 years) devoted to the theme of birds, organized during the 60th International Thematic Philatelic Exhibition "EXPHIMO 2018" in Mondorf-les-Bains (Luxembourg) from 19 to 21 May 2018, the Luxembourg Post has put into circulation, on May 15, 2018, a very nice series (3 stamps) devoted to different species of rare birds living in the country.
This series, which will continue in 2019 and 2020, was conceived in collaboration with "natur&ëmwelt" (12,000 members), an association that works to safeguard biodiversity in a varied natural and cultural landscape throughout Luxembourg.
This series appears on the special cover below, sent on June 14, 2018 from the city of Luxembourg.
A noter ce cachet additionnel bleu consacré au village de Schengen qui a été inscrit en 2018 sur la liste des site du "Label du patrimoine européen". Depuis 2013, ces sites sont choisis pour leur valeur symbolique, le rôle qu’ils ont joué dans l'histoire européenne et les activités qu'ils proposent, qui rapprochent l'Union européenne et les Européens.
Situé à la frontière entre le Luxembourg, la France et l'Allemagne, Schengen est devenu célèbre suite à la signature en 1985 du traité sur la suppression des contrôles aux frontières européennes ou "espace Schengen".
Les 3 espèces d'oiseaux à l'honneur ici, menacées par les changements environnementaux et l'influence de l'homme dans la réduction de leur habitat, vivent dans le même milieu naturel, principalement près de zones humides : la rousserolle effarvatte (Acrocephalus scirpaceus - 0,25€), l'hirondelle rustique (Hirundo rustica - 0,70€) et la gorgebleue à miroir (Luscinia svecica - 0,95€).
Ces 3 timbres, imprimés en feuillet de 10 timbres avec mention "Birdpex8" dans les marges (comme ci-dessus), ont été conçus par l'artiste Johan de Crem (né en 1962 en Belgique) et imprimés en France par Cartor Security Printing, en trame 800 (une première mondiale !) et aléatoire.
To note this additional blue cachet dedicated to the village of Schengen which was inscribed in 2018 on the list of the "European Heritage Label" sites. Since 2013, these sites have been chosen for their symbolic value, the role they have played in European history and the activities they propose, which bring the European Union closer to the Europeans.
Located on the border between Luxembourg, France and Germany, Schengen became famous following the signing in 1985 of the Treaty on the Abolition of European Border Controls or "Schengen Area".
The three species of birds in the spotlight here, threatened by environmental changes and the influence of man in the reduction of their habitat, live in the same natural environment, mainly near wetlands: the Eurasian reed warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus - € 0.25), the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica - € 0.70) and the Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica - € 0.95).
These 3 stamps, printed in a sheet of 10 stamps with the mention "Birdpex8" in the margins (as above), were designed by the artist Johan de Crem (born in 1962 in Belgium) and printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, with a 800 frame (a world first!) and random printing technique.
