La poste française avait initié en 2005 (Année du coq) une série (blocs-feuillets composés de 10 ou 5 timbres) consacrée aux différents signes du zodiaque chinois, clôturée en 2016 (Année du singe) après un cycle de 12 ans et 12 animaux/créatures différents.
La poste française était alors une des premières administrations postales non-asiatiques à émettre des timbres sur ce thème.
En 2017 (Année du coq) et 2018 (Année du chien), des collectors (timbres personnalisés) avaient été émis et, pour célébrer la nouvelle année du cochon (de terre), débutée le 5 février 2019, des timbres officiels ont à nouveau été mis en circulation, en vente générale le 28 janvier 2019.

The French Post was then one of the first non-Asian postal administrations to issue stamps on this theme.
In 2017 (Year of the Rooster) and 2018 (Year of the Dog), collectors (personalized stamps) were issued and, to celebrate the New Year of the (Earth) Pig, started on February 5, 2019, official stamps have again been put into circulation, on general sale on January 28, 2019.
Après des timbres majoritairement conçus par le peintre calligraphe Zhongyao Li, c'est l'artiste chinois Chen Jianghong (né en 1963 à Tianjin), peintre et illustrateur vivant et travaillant à Paris depuis 1987, qui a créé les 2 timbres émis cette année pour illustrer cette Année du cochon.
Chen Jianghong a créé 2 blocs-feuillets, "Montagne" et "Lanterne" composés respectivement de 5 timbres au tarif "Lettre Verte 20g - 0,88€" (tirage : 300000 blocs) et 5 timbres au tarif "International 20g - 1,30€" (tirage : 200000 blocs).
A noter que chacun de ces 2 blocs-feuillet est composé de timbres de différents formats : 1 timbre au format 33x39mm et 4 timbres au format 28x33mm.
Le timbre au format 33x39mm du bloc-feuillet "Montagne", avec une partie de la marge supérieure, figure sur le joli pli Premier Jour illustré ci-dessus, avec TAD de Paris du 25 janvier 2019. Merci beaucoup Roland !
After stamps mainly designed by the calligrapher Zhongyao Li, it is the Chinese artist Chen Jianghong (born in 1963 in Tianjin), painter and illustrator living and working in Paris since 1987, who created the two stamps issued this year to illustrate this Year of the Pig.
Chen Jianghong designed two souvenir sheets, entitled "Mountain" and "Lantern" composed respectively of 5 stamps at the rate "Green Letter 20g - € 0.88" (print run: 300,000 sheets) and 5 stamps at the rate "International 20g - € 1.30" (print run: 200,000 sheets).
To note that each of these two souvenir sheets is composed of stamps of different shapes: one stamp in 33x39mm format and four stamps in 28x33mm format.
The stamp in the 33x39mm format of the "Mountain" souvenir sheet, with a part of the top margin, is present on the nice illustrated First Day cover above, with cancellation from Paris of January 25, 2019. Thank you very much Roland!

Ce timbre montre un cochon, en costume traditionnel chinois, dans une apparence humaine, tenant une lanterne rouge, un des symboles de ces festivités du Nouvel An chinois, sur laquelle figure un cochon. Une façon de rappeler que chacun d'entre nous est rattaché à l'animal ou la créature de l'astrologie chinoise qui nous a vu naître.
La prévente de cette série a eu lieu en grande pompe le 26 janvier 2019 au Carré d'Encre à Paris, en présence de l'artiste, Chen Jianghong, mais aussi de l'ambassadeur de Chine en France, Zhai Jun, du président du Groupe La Poste, Philippe Wahl, et du directeur de Phil@poste, Gilles Livchitz.

This stamp shows a pig, in Chinese traditional costume, in a human appearance, holding a red lantern, one of the symbols of these Chinese New Year festivities, on which a pig is featured. One way to remember that each of us is attached to the animal or the creature of Chinese astrology who saw us born.
The preview sale of this series took place with great fanfare on January 26, 2019 at the "Carré d'Encre" in Paris, in the presence of the artist, Chen Jianghong, but also the Chinese ambassador to France, Zhai Jun, the president of La Poste, Philippe Wahl, and the director of Phil@poste, Gilles Livchitz.

Un autre TAD a été mis en circulation les 26 et 27 janvier 2019 à Paris, avec mention "Nouvel An chinois" et le caractère chinois "cochon".
Ce TAD, appliqué sur les 2 plis spéciaux ci-dessus et ci-dessous, était proposé au public, devant le magasin historique de "Tang Frères" (une entreprise spécialisée dans l'importation et la distribution des produits alimentaires asiatiques), situé depuis 1981 au cœur du quartier chinois à Paris.
Another postmark was put into circulation on January 26 and 27, 2019 in Paris, with mention "Chinese New Year" and the Chinese character "Pig".
This postmark, applied on the two special envelopes above and below, was proposed to the public, in front of the historical store of "Tang Frères" (a company specializing in the import and distribution of Asian food products), located since 1981 in the heart of Chinatown in Paris.
