Le 9 mai 2019 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste du Belarus "Belpochta" a mis en circulation 2 timbres EUROPA ayant pour thème les oiseaux nationaux cette année, consacrés en particulier à la cigogne blanche (Ciconia ciconia).
Cet oiseau est en effet l'oiseau national de ce pays, de même en Lituanie, en Pologne et en Ukraine.
Ces 2 timbres, conçus par Marina Vitkovskaya à partir de dessins originaux d'Alexander Mityanin, ont été imprimés chacun en feuillet de 6 timbres (tirage : 42000 pour chaque timbre) ainsi que dans un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 12000) composé de 4 timbres (2 de chaque).
Ces 2 timbres figurent sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 10 mai 2019 depuis Minsk, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Alexander !
On May 9, 2019 (Europe Day), the Belarus Post "Belpochta" issued two EUROPA stamps devoted to the theme of national birds this year, especially the white stork (Ciconia ciconia).
This bird is indeed the national bird of this country, the same in Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.
These two stamps, designed by Marina Vitkovskaya from original drawings by Alexander Mityanin, were each printed in a sheetlet of 6 stamps (print run: 42,000 for each stamp) and in a souvenir sheet (print run: 12,000) consisting of 4 stamps (2 of each).
These two stamps are present on the nice letter below sent on May 10, 2019 from Minsk, the capital. Thank you very much Alexander!
Le timbre à droite, de valeur permanente "P" (1,80 BYN - lettre jusqu'à 20g à l'étranger par voie aérienne), montre le détail de la partie supérieure d'un spécimen de cigogne blanche adulte avec une cigogne en vol dans le fond.
L'autre timbre au tarif permanent "H" (1,62 BYN - lettre par voie terrestre jusqu'à 20g vers l'étranger) représente une cigogne blanche dans son nid avec ses petits.
Au Belarus, la cigogne blanche est un symbole de pureté nationale, du soleil, de paix et de bonté.
Ces oiseaux (parmi les 317 espèces recensées dans le pays) qui ne craignent pas les humains arrivent dans le pays après une migration fin mars ou début avril et sont donc associés au printemps et au début d'une nouvelle vie.
Cet oiseau a également été choisi sur des timbres EUROPA 2019 émis par la Lituanie, la Moldavie, l'Ukraine et la Hongrie.
The stamp on the right, permanent value "P" (1.80 BYN - airmail letter up to 20g sent abroad), shows the detail of the upper part of a specimen of adult white stork with a stork in flight in the background.
The other permanent stamp "H" (1.62 BYN - surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad) represents a white stork in its nest with its young.
In Belarus, the white stork is a symbol of national purity, sun, peace and good.
These birds (among the 317 species listed in the country) that are not afraid of humans arrive in the country after a migration late March or early April and are associated with the spring and the beginning of a new life.
This bird was also featured on EUROPA 2019 stamps issued by Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine and Hungary.
