Avec 12 autres pays africains (Algérie, Burkina Faso, République Centrafricaine, Djibouti, Gambie, Kenya, Liberia, Libye, Niger, Sierra Leone, Afrique du Sud, Togo), la Tunisie a participé à ce projet commun en 2018, initié par l'Union PanAfricaine des Postes (UPAP), consistant à émettre un timbre et/ou un bloc-feuillet commun le 18 juillet 2018, Journée internationale Nelson Mandela, à l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de "Madiba", Nelson Mandela (1918-2013).
Les 2 administrations postales de Tunisie et de Libye n'ont curieusement pas choisi le même portrait de Mandela que les 11 autres pays...
La version tunisienne de ce bloc-feuillet (0,5 dinar, tirage : 100000), ainsi qu'un 2ème timbre extrait du bloc-feuillet, ont été utilisés pour affranchir cette jolie lettre envoyée le 29 novembre 2019 depuis la ville de Nabeul. Merci beaucoup Walid !
With 12 other African countries (Africa, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Gambia, Kenya, Liberia, Libya, Niger, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo), Tunisia participated in this joint project in 2018, initiated by the PanAfrican Postal Union (PAPU), to put into circulation a joint stamp and/or a souvenir sheet on July 18, 2018, the Nelson Mandela International Day, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of "Madiba", Nelson Mandela (1918-2013).
The two postal administrations of Tunisia and Libya curiously did not choose the same portrait of Mandela as the 11 other countries ...
The Tunisian version of this souvenir sheet (0.5 dinar, print run: 100,000), as well as a second stamp extracted from the souvenir sheet, have been used to stamp this pretty letter sent on November 29, 2019 from the city of Nabeul. Thank you very much Walid!

Malgré 27 ans d'emprisonnement, il a continué à se battre pour une Afrique du Sud non raciste, unie et démocratique. En 1994, Nelson Mandela a été élu premier président noir d'Afrique du Sud.

Le Cap Blanc, situé sur la côte nord de la Tunisie, est considéré comme l'un des points les plus au nord du continent africain, avec le Cap Angela situé non loin de ce site.
