EUROPA 2020 (Ancient postal routes) stamp on cover from Poland

Timbre EUROPA 2020 (Anciennes routes postales) sur lettre de Pologne

Comme de coutume, la poste polonaise n'a mis en circulation qu'un seul timbre EUROPA cette année, illustrant le thème des "anciennes routes postales" ("Dawne szlaki pocztowe" en polonais).
Mis en circulation le 29 avril 2020, ce timbre EUROPA (5 PLN, tirage : 120000), conçu par Maciej Jędrysik, de grand format vertical (31,25 x 76,5 mm), a été imprimé en feuillet de 6 timbres.
Poczta Polska, le service postal polonais, a été fondé en 1558 et les premières marques postales ont été introduites en 1764. 
As usual, the Polish Post has issued only one EUROPA stamp this year, depicting the theme of "ancient postal routes" ("Dawne szlaki pocztowe" in Polish).
Put into circulation on April 29, 2020, this EUROPA stamp (5 PLN, print run: 120,000), designed by Maciej Jędrysik, in large vertical format (31.25 x 76.5 mm), was printed in sheetlet of 6 stamps.
Poczta Polska, the Polish postal service, was founded in 1558, and the first postmarks were introduced in 1764.

 

Ce très joli timbre a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 10 août 2020 depuis la ville de Mordy (centre-est du pays). Merci beaucoup Grzegorz !
Ce timbre a été conçu à partir d'une ancienne carte (non identifiée) afin d'illustrer une des principales voies de communication et postales fonctionnant au 16ème siècle sur le territoire polonais.
Cette voie postale (présence de messagers à pied et à cheval) suit ici le cours de la Vistule, le principal fleuve du pays, entre les villes de Cracovie et Gdańsk (et son embouchure sur la mer Baltique), en passant par les villes de Sandomierz, Varsovie, Toruń et Elbląg.

This very nice stamp was used on the cover above sent on August 10, 2020 from the town of Mordy (central-eastern part of the country). Thank you very much Grzegorz!

This stamp was designed from an old (unidentified) map to illustrate one of the main communication and postal routes operating in the 16th century on Polish territory.

This postal route (presence of messengers on foot and on horseback) follows here the course of the Vistula, the country's main river, between the cities of Krakow and Gdańsk (and its mouth on the Baltic Sea), passing through the cities of Sandomierz, Warsaw, Toruń and Elbląg.
