EUROPA 2021 (Endangered National Wildlife) stamp on FDC from France

Timbre EUROPA 2021 (Faune en voie de disparition) sur FDC de France

Le 25 mai 2021 (vente générale), la poste française a mis en circulation un des plus beaux timbres EUROPA émis cette année (à mon humble avis !) illustrant le thème de la faune nationale en voie de disparition, présente sous la mention simplifiée "faune en danger" sur ce timbre.
Conçu par le studio de graphisme et d'illustration Broll & Prascida, crée en 2010 par Anne-Charlotte Laurans, ce timbre (1,50€, tirage : 720000), imprimé en feuillet de 15 timbres avec marges illustrées (ours brun, grand hamster d'Europe, tortue verte...), figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous avec TAD de Strasbourg daté du 21 mai 2021. Merci beaucoup Olivier !
J'aime beaucoup également ce TAD (mis en circulation également à Paris), conçu par Florence Gendre, incluant le logo EUROPA (présent de façon trop discrète sur le timbre à mon avis) et des traces de 4 des espèces animales représentées sur le timbre.
On May 25, 2021 (general sale), the French Post put into circulation one of the most beautiful EUROPA stamps issued this year (in my humble opinion!) illustrating the theme of endangered national wildlife, present under the simplified mention "Faune en danger" ("endangered wildlife") on this stamp.
Designed by the graphic design and illustration studio Broll & Prascida, created in 2010 by Anne-Charlotte Laurans, this stamp (€ 1.50, print run: 720,000), printed in sheetlet of 15 stamps with illustrated margins (brown bear, European hamster, green turtle ...), is present on the First Day cover below with postmarks from Strasbourg dated May 21, 2021. Thank you very much Olivier!
I also really love this cancellation (also put into circulation in Paris), designed by Florence Gendre, including the EUROPA logo (present too discreetly on the stamp in my opinion) and pawprints of 4 of the animal species represented on the stamp.

 

5 espèces particulièrement menacées en France sont représentées ensemble sur ce timbre au graphisme simple, sur fond blanc : le mélibée (Coenonympha hero), une espèce de papillon présente en France uniquement dans le massif du Jura, tout comme le lynx boréal (Lynx lynx) observé également dans le massif des Vosges (150 individus au total), le vison d'Europe (Mustela lutreola), une espèce en danger critique qui pourrait déjà avoir disparu en France (aire de répartition : sud-ouest), le bouquetin des Pyrénées (Capra pyrenaica pyrenaica), une espèce éteinte dans le massif des Pyrénées (en cours de réintroduction à partir de bouquetins ibériques) et le lézard vert de Manapany (Phelsuma inexpectata), une espèce de gecko endémique de l'île de la Réunion.
La plupart de ces espèces sont menacées par la pollution, le destruction de leur habitat, l'agriculture intensive.
Avec le grand tétras, le lynx boréal est sans doute l'espèce la plus représentée sur les timbres EUROPA de cette année (Pologne, Lituanie, Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo), Croatie, Macédoine du Nord, Espagne), le vison d'Europe étant également à l'honneur sur un des 2 timbres roumains.

Five species particularly endangered in France are featured together on this stamp with a very simple design, on a white background: the scarce heath (Coenonympha hero), a species of butterfly found in France only in the Jura massif, like the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) also observed in the Vosges mountains (150 individuals in total), the European mink (Mustela lutreola), a critically endangered species which could already have disappeared in France (range: southwest), the Pyrenean ibex (Capra pyrenaica pyrenaica), an extinct species in the Pyrenees (being reintroduced from Iberian ibex) and the Manapany day gecko (Phelsuma inexpectata), a species of gecko endemic to Reunion Island.

Most of these species are threatened by pollution, destruction of their habitat, intensive agriculture. Along with the capercaillie, the Eurasian lynx is undoubtedly the most represented species on this year's EUROPA stamps (Poland, Lithuania, Bosnia-Herzegovina (Sarajevo), Croatia, North Macedonia, Spain), the European mink being also in the spotlight on one of the two Romanian stamps.
